If that isn't love, what is?

Howdy, everyone! Life is good and beautiful, yeah?

Well, it is. And it's Friday! The weekend's coming over, Yay :)

I was on my computer yesterday evening when I felt so hungry even when we just had our early dinner an hour before. "Oh my, I feel so gutom again!" I blurted out and the hubby who was brushing his long hair asked, "you're hungry?" so I answered, "yup."

After he was done with his hair, he went down to the kitchen and about 10 minutes later, he came back with a plate of some warm bread. He then took a slice and gave it to me. It was sweet so I thought he used honey but I found out he filled them with chocolate sprinklers and sweetened milk before flattened and sliced them into triangular bite sizes.

After I ate them (he also ate a few slices), he silently took the plate back to the kitchen.

I know, that's just one of the many simple ways on how he spells his L-O-V-E for me.

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.

Some weeks ago, the husband and I were having an afternoon break by the sitting area outside when Dad arrived and surprised us with some kilos of meat. It is amusing that instead of us buying for them, the opposite often happens. He bought the goods and even brought them to us, lol!

Cool, yeah?

Uhmmm... that's love!

But mind you, there were times when he would reprimand us even at our age, lol! He does that especially when he hears something we've done which he thinks is wrong and we could have done better. Back in the day, I would have felt bad and think he was going overboard, but I guess age maturity has something to do with the changes on how I see things differently these recent years. I know that his scolding is a gesture of love for he only meant our betterment.

Writing this brought me back to my university years when Dad himself often brought my allowances in the city even if he can just send them through. Those times, I suspected he didn't trust me and was just his way to check up on me, lol! Looking back in retrospect, I realized it was love. Because if it is not, then what is?

There was a time when a devastating storm damaged all the easier access roads from our province to the city and he took the long and dangerous route just to come visit me. Ain't that super love?

I'd say yes and I am one lucky blessed recipient of it from since my toddler years through today.

More often than not, love is expressed in the simplest forms of things, acts, words or anger even. And it takes a little more ounce of reflective thinking to understand and realize those are actually expressions of love.

Here in our locality, I observed that people are not really vocal when it comes to saying "I love you" to whom they care for, even to their own families. Their languages of love and affection are expressed through deeds and almost zero words. There is nothing wrong with it of course, but it wouldn't hurt to express one's feelings vocally too, don't you think? Because we never really know who is longing to hear those three sweet words, hence it is best to speak them every chance we get and of course, mean them too.

But no matter how one expresses his affection towards another, it is love still and what's important is when it is done genuinely and as much as possible, often or better yet, always :)

Love to me is not always glamorous, or the sweet words or the good feelings. Love hurts too. Well, we cry or grieve when someone who matters to us leaves the earth, we get worried when a friend or family isn't well etcetera.

And there are sacrifices being made, painful decisions undertaken, adjustments done and much more but we do them anyway because we care. I think love is life itself and encompasses everything else too.

This is my entry to this month's #BoM and I invite you to check it out HERE and join us! It will be fun and amazing!

Thank you and until next time! And yes, keep loving :)
