Early Spring And Heritage Day Or National Braai Day
A day to celebrate cultural diversity, at the moment the coastal region all back indoors with rain up the coast due to cut-off low with level 6 warnings for Western and Eastern Cape. This arrives hot on the heels of last weeks destructive storm surge that destroyed many coastal towns along the Western Cape shoreline.
Well the garden is safe, birds and plants are happy as can be with gentle rains falling outdoors the only one upset is Woody not wishing to get his paws wet, today I will share our Heritage Day.
Cultural heritage, of the many cultures in our country I think it safer to call the day 'Braai Day', when the sun is shining many would be outdoors celebrating together in one way or another. Using my photography to show how colourful we are.... Cheers to times and tide changing people!
Last night before the storm arrived large crowds gathered to share food, drinks and watch the South Africa vs Ireland world cup rugby game. Bad luck Springboks play better next time, still everyone gathered together in town gatherings to enjoy a splendid night out together. We start all celebrations early....
Majority of South Africans wish to get on with life, build a country back to a semblance of what it once was, have youth employed giving hope. Reason to live life without being given government handouts, people have pride and do thrive once opportunities are made available. Trust in system where 2024 voting will bring about more equilibrium, less blatant racial divide, or corruption as we are currently experience, this is far worse than witnessed prior 1994.
South Africans incorporate African, Asian, and European cultures, a captivating blend of traditions, superstitions, and culinary watering mouthfuls from each. South Africa Languages And Culture.
Perhaps one day I will share some of our wonderful people with their permission for now I share our nature where we learn tolerance and patience in keeping a positive mind through years that have been turbulent with change.
The continuous tug-o-war between being placed on a continent where we see much of both East and West, as Africans we need to find a way in coping that will be best for all and totally inclusive.
