Sowing the seeds and patiently waiting for a bumper crop, is my simple understanding of passive income.
When the silver threads start multiplying, and we leave formal employment or sell off the family business, our buying power eventually starts diminishing as our once valuable silver and gold investments or pensions did I tell you I hate that word? that sounded so good, starts shrinking with skyrocketing inflation, passive income is the way to go.
My advice is to look at your assets, your skills, and hobbies - or as @thebigsweed calls it...
hobbitizing...
and you will find many ways to generate passive income.
A successful venture naturally takes some setting up, as well as nurturing, and hard work into the wee hours of the night, but if it's something you enjoy doing, the bonus is that rewards are sure to follow.
Turning empty rooms on your property into passive income
Our main asset is our property with a garden cottage that stood empty for some months that we turned into an Airbnb, a story I've told over and over. Little did we know we were in for the ride of our lives.
Hard work initially, and still is at times, but the rewards are twofold, financially as well as the satisfaction of seeing the enjoyment of the guests who come from near and far, for all kinds of reasons.
Using part of our property to generate passive income has enriched our lives beyond our wildest dreams.
Thrifting
How many of us have stuff we no longer use, collecting dust or moth-eaten, that can be turned into fiat or Hive?
I took over my son's girlfriend's little online thrift store and was fortunate in being the recipient of her preloved finds when they emigrated, and am reaping the benefits of that. It not only is rewarding financially and a thrill seeing the SOLD sign pop up but also nice to bring discarded goods back to life and getting feedback from satisfied buyers - old baskets being used for baby showers, Mother's Day gifts, etc.
EVEN BETTER...
Hive Thrifting
This got me thinking that we could have our own Hive thrift store, using Hive, HBD or even Hive Engine tokens as the currency, and so Hive Thrifted was born, still in its infancy, but one happy blogger @silversaver888, was able to make a quick sale with stunning pearl earrings she no longer used.
Take a peak at Hive Thrifted, start decluttering, connect with Hivers from your own country for affordable shipping, and see how your Hive wallet grows.
You naturally can negotiate with buyers from other countries, as @silversaver888 and @shanibeer successfully did.
Read @shanibeer's REVIEW of her positive Hive Thrifted experience.
I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST
Blogging on Hive
I love writing, and taking photographs wherever we go, so will always be thankful for the day my son introduced me to Hive (or rather its predecessor).
I knew I was earning Crypto, but never gave it another thought, I simply enjoyed blogging and making new friends and learned what HODLing was.
That was until the pandemic hit, and although I hated dipping into my Hive wallet, it was a lifesaver, as our income dried up for a couple of months but our overheads remained high!
Hive still is the best way to earn passive income, and even though I turned to it following natural disasters and illness, all post-Covid, I will continue HODLing as much as I can for that little nest egg.
A nice way to boost our Hive earnings is to move Hive or HBD to Savings where we can earn 20% interest, an easy way to earn Passive Income.
I'm currently saving HBD as I do not want to power down, for a vacation to the Netherlands to visit our son for my belated big 7-OH! birthday.
Threading on Leo Finance and Tweeting on Twitter not only spreads the word about Hive but also brings in LEO, POSH & GOSH tokens, a truly win-win all around.
There are many ways to generate Passive Income, and I hope you enjoyed reading my contribution, but why not tell us what you are doing for this week's Silver Prompt and Dreemport Collab in April - New Theme for Friday, April 28. You will find all the rules, and the how-to in that blog.
A huge thank you to @dreemsteem for hosting the Silver Bloggers for the month of April, you are awesome!
