The Silverbloggers Chronicles - Prompt #03: San Luis Beach

San Luis Beach

Surely the beach, to which I want to invite you today, will never be in the thread or in the reviews of the best beaches in the world. Nor, surely, is it the best beach in the state of Sucre, the state where I live, which has beaches as beautiful and lush as Playa Medina, Mochima, Playa El Castillo or Puipuy. But it is the most endearing for me and that's why I want to invite you to spend a day there. Come with me to Playa San Luis.

Playa San Luis is almost in the center of the city, so it is very easy to get there. If we go by public transportation, in 20 or 30 minutes you get there. You don't have to pay anything to get in and if you don't want to pay for an awning, you can sit under any of the coconut or grape trees that line the beach. There are food and beverage services, but if your budget is limited, it's okay to bring your own food and drink, whatever you want. Although with the variety of offerings, you're sure to crave empanadas, cocktails, beers or sea and land grill.

When I was a child, my father took us to Playa San Luis every Sunday. My mother would stay at home resting and my father would take my two sisters and me (at that time we were three females) very early in the morning. On the way there, as we were enthusiastic and full of energy, we would walk, but on the way back, already exhausted and sleepy, my dad would take a cab to get home faster.

Since San Luis is a beach without strong waves and a large shore, my father used to sit under a tree from where he would watch us play, jump and swim. After a certain time, he would call us to eat: it was always bread with devil's bread and orange juice. After eating, we would go back to the water. Sometimes, we could eat ice cream and I would ask for coconut ice cream and since we didn't have enough money for dad to buy ice cream for himself, we would each give him a little piece of ours. In return, in the end, dad would make sand castles for us, his princesses.

Also, San Luis is perfect for young people. Because of its proximity, it is the perfect plan to go after school or on a weekend, in a group outing with friends. But if the plan is romantic and the idea is to go as a couple, because of its length, San Luis is perfect for walking along the shore of the beach, letting the waves wet your feet, while the sun hides, blushing the sky and intertwined hands speak of promises of love.

Once, a friend from Merida who spent 6 months in CumanĂ¡, told me that one of the things he would miss the most when he left, would be that beach, the moments and conversations in front of the sea, the shyness of the waves, the clear light of the afternoon and it is as if it were one of those paintings that are difficult to erase, so the image of that beach: it tattoos itself in your retina and in your soul.

San Luis is not the lush beach that makes the Guinness record. No. But it has breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, full of reds and oranges; and above all it is close to everywhere, so close that after having been there, when you return home, you feel the sound of the waves chasing you, the sun caressing your lips and the swaying of the waves rocking you.

This post is in response to the new initiative that the @silverbloggers community has for all of us. I'll leave the invitation post over here in case you want to participate. Regards
