Don't you just LOVE my little play on love

As you may have guessed it, this is another love article, well actually it is my entry to the Silver Bloggers #bom love challenge which you can all read it about it here

If you know me, then you know that I like to do a twist on things.

As we go through our various stages of life, we love many people, we love our parents, our siblings, our partners. Generally speaking, love fluctuates and comes in and out of our lives.

For me though, there has always been one constant love, from as far back as my memory goes.

That is the love I shall talk about today. I originally was going to do a love love article, something based around the picture below.

However, a couple of things that happened recently made me change my mind, and the idea for this article was born.

If you read my article about Wojtek the bear then you might remember that I started off by saying that

I was unpacking a box this morning and took out a bear.

This coupled with quite an extraordinary event on Thursday evening has formed the basis for this article.

Before we start though, let's play one of my favourite songs with love in the title.

Don't you think that the chorus is addictive!

It seems that I am not the only one that loves this song.

Whilst on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on 13/01/2022 Keanu Reeves revealed that Joy Division's “Love Will Tear Us Apart” was his favourite song.

This wee guy was the bear that I was unpacking and moving. He is wearing the red white and blue of the famous Glasgow Rangers, my football team. I was given him over twenty years ago after we had won the Skol Cup Final.

My love for Rangers has been one constant love in my life from forever.

Growing up in Belfast in Northern Ireland. If you were Protestant, you were British and you supported Rangers. If you were Roman Catholic you supported Celtic and wanted to be Irish.

So I grew up a Prod, lived in the Protestant part of town, went to Protestant school and supported Glasgow Rangers, traditionally the Protestant club in Scotland.

The first time I went to Ibrox, their football ground, was when I was six, after we had moved from Northern Ireland to Scotland.

I have seen countless games, both domestically and overseas, and experienced many highs and lows.

Our arch rivals are Celtic, and a couple of weeks ago we played them on their patch, and we were awful, they had banned our fans, so no fans were there from our side, but that was no excuse, it was an abject performance.

Most definitely a performance that "Love will tear us apart again" came in to play.

Fast forward to last night. We were playing in the Europa League, our opposition was Borussia Dortmund, the powerhouse from Germany and the tournament favourites. The game was played in their stadium in Germany

We played them off the park, ruthless and slick, it was incredible and we ended up winning the match 4 goals to 2.

Dortmund Destroyed and Rangers Rejoice

I lost my voice and am still on Cloud 9! Our motto is Ready, and that is something I am, and above all I adhere to our cry... No Surrender.

Rangers Football Club is the constant love that I have had all throughout my life and this is my entry for the #bom challenge from the amazing Silver Bloggers community.

Before I go I shall leave you with these words ⚽⚽⚽

“Give a man a ball, he will be happy for a day. Give a man a woman, he will be happy for the night. Give a man a woman who loves football, he will be happy for life.”

Baby-G-SWAG

I hope you enjoyed this little twist of mine and have a wonderful weekend.
