The rejuvenated crypto addict

Hello Hello Silver Bloggers and bees of the Hive

I trust you had a pleasant weekend, I had a busy and chaotic one.
Footy took over today and my team Rangers took a leaf out of my book and displayed their own form of JIT (Just In Time) scoring the winner 3 minutes from the end of the match ⚽🤯. It is contagious @coquicoin and then I was searching online to buy a new camera 📷 that I had been discussing with @papilloncharity so that I forgot the time and the fact that today is the last day to answer this #silverprompt

Oh well better late than never!

My title to this post The rejuvenated crypto addict sums up me and my story with cryptocurrency.

Ten years ago I bought a holiday rentals business in the South of Spain. I built a website and got involved in things online, especially during the winter months when it was offseason!

I used to write on various platforms that paid in Bitcoin. At the time of course it was low and I did not know then what I know now. If only, haha. I still have some online web based wallets floating around in the ether that I cannot access, as they were attached to email addresses that I have not got access to now.

Oh how to have online wallets such as the ones we have now back then, I think I would be doing quite well in the BTC stakes.

We live in the now, so there is no point crying over spilt milk.

The main second stage in my journey was the pandemic. I basically had to use my portfolio that I had to cover the start of the pandemic.

In the meantime, all that time at home had me exploring things online and I got back into crypto and writing.

In particular, I discovered a writing platform in August 2020 called read.cash where I met the wonderful @coquicoin @eylz619 and @ifarmgirl amongst others who you will know from this awesome Silver Bloggers community.

This opened up another coin called BitcoinCash which hard forked from Bitcoin in 2017. Through this I got involved in their smart contract tokens and also NFTs.

One thing we ALL have to do in crypto is DYOR Do Your Own Research.

I am sorry to say, many people perceive crypto to be one big PONZI scam. At times, crypto does resemble the WIld West, and there are I am afraid many projects and tokens which are scams and rugpulls, the developer takes all your money.

You do get the projects where the whales pump the price, drag the small investors in and then dump their tokens taking the profits of the wee guy.

NFTs or Non Fungible Tokens I have dabbled in, and have come to the conclusion that for me NFTs stand for No Fricking Thanks...

There are so many of them on the go. Unless you buy a significant percentage and are trying to flip them, you will lose out. Imagine a minting of 10000 and you buy 1 or 2. The odds of you managing to mint (create or buy) a rare one is virtually nonexistent.

All too often, there is no use case behind these projects, so it is akin to you buying a lottery ticket which once the draw has been made, your ticket becomes nigh on worthless as the market will be flooded with people selling, and if you can even manage to sell it you won't get your money back.

Something is only worth as much as what someone is willing to pay for it!

There are NFT projects where you can play games or you can stake the NFTs and get rewards. These are far better, however again you must really research them and don't do this FOMO Fear Of Missing Out nonsense!

Crypto is a big part of my retirement plan, and I intend buying my canal riverboat with crypto.

I have now diversified bigtime into the ATOM/COSMOS ecosystem, which in the last two months has been bucing the stagnant or declining crypto market. They really encourage you to HODL because new tokens are announced on the ecosystem with air and fairdrops for main coin hodlers. A geat incentive to HODL and keep taking the staking reward.

You might have seen posts on Hive about the JUNO whale saga, well JUNO is a coin that is part of the COSMOS ecosystem.

The awesome @mondoshawan did mention on a comment to me about The Mad Scotsmans Crypto Side Hustle as I had commented that as much as all want to use crypto, there had not been many posts that I had seen in the SB community. However, anything I saw in any post of mine is not financial advice!

I shall perhaps do these once a week or maybe once a fortnight.

There is so much to crypto now, and it moves at such a fast pace that many people miss out because they don't know the terms, don't know where to invest, how to cash out etc etc.

In summation, crypto is back in plans, and is flowing through my veins, the addict in me has been awoken again and hell yeah baby, crypto is becoming a big part of my retirement plans.
