Es muy bonito que nuestros amigos nos ayuden a sonreír con gestos maravillosos. Hace poco recibí la invitación por parte de un primo, al que considero además un gran amigo, al bautizo de su bebé. Nunca nadie me había considerado para algo igual, así que acepté. Para mayor sorpresa, el evento cayó el mismo día de mi cumpleaños, o sea un siete de septiembre. La ocasión fue muy especial porque de alguna manera me sentí feliz y agradecido. Este es el relato vívido de las ocasiones que no se olvidan, y que permanecen talladas para siempre en nuestra memoria.
It is so nice that our friends help us smile what wonderful gestures. I recently received an invitation from a cousin, whom I consider a great friend, to his baby's christening. No one had ever considered me for anything like this before, so I accepted. To my surprise, the event fell on the same day as my birthday, September 7th. The occasion was very special because somehow I felt happy and grateful. This is a vivid account of the occasions that are not forgotten and remain forever carved in our memory.

La doble celebración inició muy por la mañana. No sabía que ponerme para asistir al bautizo, incluso pregunté si debía ir yo vestido de blanco. Consulté a mí ahora compadre, y este me dijo que no había restricciones de vestimenta, tampoco podía abusar porque, o sea, era un evento formal. Una vez terminada la jornada de vestir, me fui al lugar pautado para la ocasión. Ya había recibido las primeras felicitaciones por mi cumpleaños, y cuando llegué recibí muchas más. Me reencontré con dos amigos que también bautizarían al bebé, la cual se llama Sielis. Como buenos compadres, hablamos un rato XD.
El lugar era bastante espacioso. Me comentaron que eligieron un lugar amplio y al aire libre para realizar los bautizos debido al alto calor. No obstante, aún hubo calor a pesar de que estábamos en un aparente espacio fresco. Esa no fue razón suficiente para desmotivarnos; el día apenas comenzaba y parecía ser maravilloso. Pronto comenzaron las ansiadas fotografías.
The double celebration started very early in the morning. I didn't know what to wear to the baptism, I even asked if I should wear white. I consulted my new compadre, and he told me that there were no dress restrictions, but I could not overdo it because it was a formal event. Once the dress-up day was over, I went to the place scheduled for the occasion. I had already received the first congratulations for my birthday, and when I arrived I received many more. I met up with two friends who would also baptize the baby, whose name is Sielis. As good compadres, we talked for a while XD.
The place was quite spacious. They told me that they chose a large outdoor venue for the baptisms due to the high heat. However, it was still hot even though we were in a seemingly calm space. That was not reason enough to discourage us; the day was just beginning and it seemed to be wonderful. Soon the long-awaited photographs began.

¿Qué hacen que una ocasión sea tan especial? Simple: felicidad. La felicidad, cuando viene de la mano de amigos verdaderos, deja de ser efímera. En estos tiempos es difícil hallar amistades robustas, pero todavía existen personas capaces de darte su amistad sin condición alguna. A mí me encanta rodearme de personas con una visión de crecimiento personal porque me inspiran. Este recuentro, por ejemplo, sirvió para entender que aunque pase el tiempo y las cosas cambien, los amigos de verdad siempre estarán para ti.
Me encantó compartir con personas visionarias, lo digo porque hablamos de algunos viejos proyectos y de cómo las oportunidades permanecen vivas. Nuestras conversaciones parecían como de conferencias en lugar de bautizos. Luego tuvimos que prestar atención, jajaja. La pequeña Seiles también disfrutó de nuestras habladurías. Mi nueva ahijada parecía estar disfrutando mucho más que nosotros.
What makes an occasion so special? Simple: happiness. Happiness, when it comes from the hand of true friends, ceases to be ephemeral. In this day and age, it's hard to find strong friendships, but there are still people out there who can give you their friendship without any strings attached. I love to surround myself with people with a vision of personal growth because they inspire me. This meeting, for example, helped me understand that even if time passes and things change, true friends will always be there for you.
I loved sharing with visionary people, I say this because we talked about some old projects and how opportunities remain alive. Our conversations felt like conferences instead of baptisms. Then we had to pay attention, hahaha. Little Seiles also enjoyed our chatter. My new goddaughter seemed to be enjoying it much more than we were.

El bautizo inició a las diez de la mañana. La ceremonia fue algo larga, pero muy bonita. Hubo un apagón eléctrico mientras estábamos en el evento, pero no por eso se detuvo la actividad. La parte más conmovedora fue cuando nos tocó acercarnos a la pila bautismal con el bebé entre los brazos. Pensé que ella iba a llorar, pero me equivoqué, pues en vez de hacerlo solo empezó a sonreír.
Es difícil olvidar momentos tan especiales. La mañana transcurrió emotiva, algo acalorada, pero espléndida. Mis amigos y mi nuevo compadre dijeron que ya me estaba poniendo viejo, eso con motivo de mi cumpleaños, a lo que yo respondí: “sí, y con orgullo” XD. De verdad que me reí mucho… aquellos amigos que te sacan una sonrisa son especiales.
The baptism began at ten o'clock in the morning. The ceremony was a bit long but very beautiful. There was a power outage while we were at the event, but that didn't stop the activity. The most touching part was when it was our turn to approach the baptismal font with the baby in our arms. I thought she was going to cry, but I was wrong because instead she just started smiling.
It is difficult to forget such special moments. The morning was emotional, somewhat heated, but splendid. My friends and my new company said that I was already getting old, on the occasion of my birthday, to which I replied: "Yes, and proudly" XD. I laughed a lot... those friends that make you smile are special.

Al terminar la ceremonia me despedí y volví a casa. El resto del día pasó tranquilo y en familia, con mi madre recordando cuando me dio a luz, XD. En un punto, llegaron mis amigas con un pastel y algunos regalos, ¡me tomaron por sorpresa! Allí la celebración continuó. Soy de los que no son fan de las fiestas sorpresas, pero, tal como ellas me dijeron, no me gobierno ni en mi cumpleaños jajaja XD.
Comimos pastel de chocolate con vainilla y arequipe, ¡estaba delicioso! Esta fue la segunda gran ocasión especial del día.
At the end of the ceremony I said goodbye and went home. The rest of the day passed quietly and with family, with my mother remembering when she gave birth to me, XD. At one point, my friends arrived with a cake and some gifts, they took me by surprise! There the celebration continued. I'm not a fan of surprise parties, but, as they told me, I don't even get a government on my birthday hahaha XD.
We had chocolate cake with vanilla and a recipe, it was delicious! This was the second big special occasion of the day.

Y así se talló el siete de septiembre en mis recuerdos: rodeado de amigos, familiares y muchas risas. Creo que el mejor regalo que recibí fue esas muestras maravillosas de afecto, y no me refiero a lo material. También estoy feliz por todos esos grandes amigos y amigas que me felicitaron por chat, ¡los adoro a todos! Son como mi familia, y tal como dice Toretto:
"Nada es más fuerte que la familia.”
And that is how September 7th was carved in my memories: surrounded by friends, family, and lots of laughter. I think the best gift I received was those wonderful tokens of affection, and I don't mean materially. I am also happy for all those great friends who congratulated me by chat, I adore them all! They are like my family, and just like Toretto says:
"Nothing is stronger than family. "
