Why do you claim that Potemkin is a symbol of 18th century Russia?
As I recall, Russia in the 18th century was an empire in the Dark Ages of the Middle Ages that rejected the modern revolution in Western Europe.😅

I recognized Catherine the Great as a lewd prostitute who killed her incompetent husband and became emperor. So, Perhaps the sons of Catherine the Great were not descendants of the Romanovs.
