THE POWER OF “I CAN”

<div class=“text-justify”

I began my savings again after losing quite a bit. I have to say that many of us don’t know the full story with my savings. I was not totally honest.

On Hive here, I saved my first 118 HBD (N102,000) with dedication and determination backed with consistency. Also here on Hive, I lost my entire savings of 118 HBD due to ignorance. But I learned.

118 HBD was supposed to go into the business that I and mom would start (not as beginners though only because we were moving). In my post The “?” Mark, I tell the full story of how I lost my entire savings and how I had to start over. I lost that amount to Binance. But as I said, I learned.

I thank God daily for this option of Hive and for the resilience and accountability of SSC. There wasn’t an option to remain down. I had to get up and find a way out. In summary, Mom found a way out and I came back stronger and more determined.

Let’s say I am still suffering from the Trauma of losing so much to the CEx that I can’t bring myself to even log in to Binance but I know that I will overcome it. Just giving myself time.

Before I lost my entire savings to one costly mistake, I powered down my Hive (and I was close to the 1k mark) to get a good phone. This was crucial because my phone then was whack and hindered me a lot. Then my Laptop developed its own issues and I just knew I needed to make a sacrifice.

I wasn’t ready to part with my HP and so I cried while Powering Down. I don’t know if it was PMS or if it just hurt that I was losing something of importance. The truth is, then I didn’t see it as what it was. An Investment. I saw my hard work being flushed. What a mindset!

Fast forward, I was dropped back to Redfish and the pang that came with that message from HiveBuzz was detrimental. I wasn’t happy for all throughout that day. To make matters worse, I would read of people powering up, building their HP while I made little to no progress. It sucked.

However, I got the phone and I was taking pictures, being active again and building back my brand (or account). It felt so slow but I knew it would all be worth it.

There’s a quote that I can never forget by E.T (motivational speaker), he said “The dog climbing up the hill has nothing to lose. So there’s nothing that can stop him! You have to be Hungry!”

It seems radical, but I just knew I had to apply that mindset to everything I did including Hive. I stopped every negative thought at the gate and would tell myself when I see the progress of my fellow Hivers, “If they can do it, I CAN!”

I refused to accept that I couldn’t and so, I started saving again (although it took me weeks to come back onboard because I was kind of ashamed). It took guts in my opinion to face what made me uncomfortable. I also had to redefine my goals and not go “flying in 100 directions” according to @tengolotodo.

I sat down and applied the SMART feature. Specific, Measured, Achievable, Realistic and with a Time frame. The best place to see to my goals was a place that held accountability. And that is the Saturday Savers.

It’s now a few months since then (about 4 or so) and…

I actually teared up when I saw this. This to me was all the testimony I needed to believe in my new found mindset. That, among other things I mean (P.S, I am in a bigger house now 😁). I could build back whatever. It is never finished until I say so.

And we are almost at 600 again. Previously at 536.738 this is progress! Regarding my savings, if you have been following you’ll know that I save in two different accounts. Mine and @tengolotodo.leo

That man’s poking stick is sharp and his bark is… well😂… he pushes me🙂. He gives a really good KUTA even when he is on his own ass almost half the time…

Now back to my savings…

This is of my own account. From 18.558 the previous week. And with the other account reading 21.658 we have 43.735 of savings in total. I have been faithfully saving 1.102 HBD daily (0.551 to each account) for 39 days now.

These savings have their designations. One would be for next year’s rent and the other to resume school next year. Had to put that on hold because of the move and loss but like I said, it isn’t over until I say so.

I hope to round up by next year. I have been slow mostly due to finances but I know I would be done soon.
