I must have mentioned this quote a few times on my blog, but it is never enough, as it is what gives me energy to keep pushing through challenges and difficulties.
What this quote does to me generally is that it opens my eye to not looking at situations for how they are but for how they may be. It guides my thoughts on the benefits that I would gain after scaling through a challenge.
I have begun to see the events around me as being for my own good, and I try not to speak negatively about them so that I don't get distracted from seeing the opportunity that lies right in front of me. In other words, I try to be optimistic in every situation and speak positively in every situation I find myself in.
Most people are to quick to curse or blame something for their situations; they dwell on the thoughts of how life would be if they were not facing that particular obstacle instead of taking responsibility and stopping waiting for someone to save them from the situation they are in.
There are still some people who keep cursing every moment because there was once a better time in their lives where they probably had more money and enjoyed life. These kinds of people begin to live in past glory and moments.
Instead, it is better to go straight to the particular moments they are in, find gratitude for being alive, and take every challenge they face as something temporary and something that leads to a greater cause. This way, their eyes would be open to every opportunity lying low in every difficulty.
Nigeria, a Land Filled With Opportunities
Let's take the situation in Nigeria, for example. We know how things are getting more difficult day by day in Nigeria, with the increase in electricity, tuition fees for public schools, gas, petrol, and the cost of living in general, but yet there are still some people who seek out the opportunities that come from the challenges people face.
While some people clamour that Nigeria is too hard, there are also some people who see these challenges as opportunities or problems waiting for them to solve.
People like Dangote are not rich because of the money he has, but because he could see the problems Nigeria is facing, he could see the needs of the people, and he then made himself responsible to offer solutions to the people while making money off it.
Dangote did not see the challenge the country is facing for what it is or what it may be. Or, better said, for the opportunities it may bring.
It is simply said that showing gratitude for whatever challenge you find yourself opens your eyes to the opportunity that lays around, but if you choose to see the challenge the way it is, then the opportunity may not present itself because you are too busy complaining about your situation.
Hence the main reason why I say to myself:
