Yesterday morning after I had the boys to school I was in the midst of my sketching lesson when I looked out the window to see it trying to snow. It started super light but then the cell came over and dropped a pretty heavy little shower. Thankfully it lasted only minutes and then it moved on but off and on most the rest of the morning other small cells would whiz by and drop some cloud dandruff.
I made sure to get the log splitter pulled out and accessible for our friends to take back but they ended up not taking it last night as they were whooped from skiing.
After picking the boys up from school the clouds parted for a while and gave us some nice sun on the driveway. I got the trailer hooked up and the barrels loaded for my grain run I have done this morning.
It took some doing but I got the pit bike running and J did a number of runs up and down the driveway. He got a bit bored of just the back and forth after a bit but once we get some trails made for him I am sure he will be having more fun with it. Plus once the snow is gone it will be far easier to get around the rest of the farm.
The lilac had a number of other bent limbs and I used the other end of the rope to tie it up. I tossed the rope end back over the shed and got the lilacs tied in a loop of rope, then standing atop the shed I yarded them up straight and tied the rope off with the other. I trimmed some of the other bushes nearby and found one more lilac that had fallen early in the winter and still needs to melt out of the snow. I will tie it up once it is free.
It was time to make another batch of tortillas and this batch is all wheat. I ended up getting over 2 dozen of them but most are not super big. I didn't roll them out much so they are thicker and softer. I have a method now of pressing each tortilla then I peel the bottom sheet off, leaving the tortilla still stuck to the top piece of butcher paper which I set to the side. While the ones are on the stove I get the next ones ready and it makes it so I can roll each one out on the paper.
A number were eaten while they were still warm but we have a lot for taking with today to the wrestling tournament.
Our friends stopped by after skiing and ate dinner with us. The Azure order was early so they had to go pick it up while the kids and I ate. They were too destroyed from skiing to worry about the log splitter so they will pick it up some other time. I offered to roll it into the back of their truck but they were having none of it.
I have been to town for grain this morning already which ended up being a single barrel with a bit dumped on the trailer. I will empty the barrel this afternoon after we get back from the boys' wrestling tournament in Spokane. I drove right past the school on my way to and from grain this morning.
