Hello everyone, we are here again with the latest weekly contest by @queercoin with the prompt:

Authenticity - What is authenticity for you? What do you think being authentic involves? Why do you think it is important to be authentic?

Authenticity: what do we really mean by that? Authenticity refers to the quality of being authentic. Genuineness, to be real, to be original. When you stay true to who you are, what you do and who you serve, you could be said to be authentic.

To an individual, to be authentic means that you are honest with yourself and with others, and you take responsibility for your mistakes. Your values, ideals, and actions align.

Being authentic involves a lot of things as a person or individual. Our today's world is filled with fake, adulterated and unreal items, good, people and values. It becomes difficult to get authentic goods for instance, people with authentic values and principles. To be authentic therefore, one needs to be honest with himself or herself and in whatever he or she does.

Also, you need to act in a way that shows what you believe in and feel about things. Some people display false lifestyle which is contrary to their personality and beliefs.

It is important to be authentic for varying reasons. For instance, people will take you seriously in whatever you do. Being a man of his word speaks volume about a person and his personality but when one is unsteady, people may not easily rely on him or her.

You'll lose credibility as well. If it is in business or interpersonal relationships, the persons value before others will drop and nobody takes the fellow seriously.

Having said all these, the question now is: are you authentic? If yes, then keep it up but if nay, hmmnnn, retrace your steps now, !LOL
