Hello everyone, we are here again with the latest weekly contest by @queercoin with the prompt:
This week's topic:
Music - What is your favorite song? Why do you like it? How does it make you feel?
To begin this topic let's find out:
What my Favourite Song is.
I love songs. I am an adent lover of music, good music at that. So to pick out one out of the numerous songs or music I like is really a tedious task. My love for music or songs spans across many genre such as RnB, Pop, Gospel, Naija, African, hip-hop, country, and so on.
However, for the sake of the discourse, I have to settle on one. Here we go; I will have to pick out Shania Twain's "From This Moment On".
Eilleen Regina, (nee Edwards) and popularly known by her stage name as Shania Twain is a Canadian singer-songwriter and actress. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, on August 28, 1965.
Shania Twain is the best-selling female performer in country music history and one of the best-selling musicians of all time with over 100 million records sold.
Shania Twain released her first studio album which was self titled "Shania Twain" in (1993) and the album had three songs namely: "What Made You Say That"; "Dance with the One That Brought You"; and "You Lay a Whole Lot of Love on Me". This first album did not make much impact. But
Shania Twain did not give up. So, in 1995 she released her second studio album titled "The Woman in Me" and it had eight singles namely: "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?"; "Any Man of Mine"; "The Woman in Me (Needs the Man in You)"; "(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!"; "You Win My Love"; "No One Needs to Know"; "Home Ain't Where His Heart Is (Anymore)"; and "God Bless the Child".
This second album, unlike the first became her biggest-selling recording and reported sold 4 million copies at the turn of the year. Her musical career had thus begun really, !LOL.
Then comes where my interest lies... Shania Twain in 1997 released her third studio album titled "Come On Over". This album is nothing but a topnotch, a classic. "Come On Over" became the best selling album by a Canadian and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the biggest-selling studio album by a solo female artist. It is also the best-selling album in the USA by a solo female artist. "Come On Over" is the ninth all-time best-selling album in the United States, and worldwide. It is also the sixteenth best-selling album in the United Kingdom. Such a wonderful record by the album.
"Come On Over" has sixteen tracks but twelve were released as singles and they are:
"Love Gets Me Every Time"; "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)"; "You're Still the One"; "From This Moment On"; "When"; "Honey, I'm Home"; "That Don't Impress Me Much"; "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"; "You've Got a Way"; "Come On Over"; "Rock This Country!"; "I'm Holdin' On to Love (To Save My Life)"
Some singles in the "Come On Over" album won some awards at the 41st Annual Grammy Award.
Why do you like it?
I love the song "From This Moment On" which is a single from Twain's album "Come On Over" because of its strong vocal content and the message it passes across. Even though a country music, it has a little touch of the romance usually seen in Blues and RnBs. Twain's voice conveys the strong message of passion being expressed by a female to her better half which is 'that life has begun from this moment... I'll always love you... and all that.
How does it make you feel?
Well, the song makes me feel strongly in love with my partner. A renewed profession of my love for him really. Such a lovely song.
