Managing Frustration |- QC Contest #50

People often get frustrated when their expectations are cut short and when they lack control over something. Sometimes the pace between what we want and what we see can get us frustrated.

Applying strategies that work is a way of coping with frustration. We all get frustrated at some point in our life. We could get frustrated in our relationship, work place, a project can get us frustrated, physical and emotional stress, it could be that we are almost at what seems like the end of a task and we noticed a slight mistake and that alteration is a total destruction of the entire work, at that point we are bound to get frustrated.

On my own, whenever I get frustrated, I try to calm down and think. Frustration is one thing I hate so much because once I'm frustrated I can easily get depressed.

The easiest way that works for me when I'm frustrated is to close my eyes for seconds and take some deep breaths. There is this calm feeling I get whenever I do that.

After that, the next thing I do is look for a solution to my problem. If I know it is not what I can solve immediately, at least looking into how I can solve it would give me some self control.

Also, to let go of that feeling, I draw Joy from whatever can help me forget my present state. It could be watching short comedy clips or listening to my favorite songs. By the time I will finish listening to these songs or watching these clips, I will feel better and it will help me see situations differently and see positivity in the situation.

For those feeling frustrated, take a deep breath, do what you love, drink some hot tea or coffee, whatever will bring a feeling of relief, look at the situation that is causing this feeling, is it something you need to give some space, or is it something that needs patience, if it is, it a walk away from it for a while. Also,seeking support from genuine people can help relieve one from being frustrated. Also trying to tackle whatever that causes that feeling would be a great way to feel better.
