One of the definitions of frustration by the English dictionary is;
The feeling of annoyance when one's actions are criticized or hindered
Frustration sometimes can be seen as anger not directed toward anyone and there are a lot of things that can cause one to become frustrated. A job with a high workload, a bad day, too many failed events/failures in a day, criticized actions, or hindered actions are some of the things that can cause frustration. We encounter at least one of the above daily and if not well managed can spoil someone's happy day.
Dealing with frustration
To manage frustration, we first need to understand that it's inevitable to avoid factors that cause it. We can't run away from a bad day neither can we avoid bad events and the vicissitudes of life, they happen to us all. The knowledge that things that cause frustration are lurking will help us better prepare for them ahead of time. Personally I manage frustration by taking a rest. Staying calm and away for some while. Most often frustration is caused by an overload in our brain or emotion, whenever there's sad news, a load of work, exposure to stress, we are open for frustration. To manage frustration we'll need to;
Think Less:" The best way to manage frustration is to think less of everything. It's a sad day and you know, think less, the time given to you to finish a task is almost up, think less, the world is crumbling with you in it, think less. The less you think, the more focused you are and the clearer you see.
Take a deep breath: Sometimes one needs to take a deep breath and relax. The rush when you hear certain news can make one disorganized. So calmness is needed, taking a deep breath would help the process.
Share with someone: There's a saying that goes " a problem shared is half solved. Keeping to ourselves what bothers us can only lead to more frustration. Two heads the bible says is better than one, you may not have a solution but the other may do, or probably give a word of encouragement that helps you feel relaxed. Sharing problems and frustration is one way of dealing with frustration and it's one of the most effective ways to manage frustration.
