Earth Day is an annual event to honor Earth and demonstrate support for environmental protection. Since we have not discovered another planet that can sustain life, we need to take care of the planet on which we are currently living.
52 Years ago, Earth Day was established. It was originally proposed to be on March 21st, the first day of spring in a proclamation at the United Nations. In the US, a nationwide environmental Teach-In was organized for March 22nd. This turned out to be the largest single-day protest in human history. 20 million people poured out in the streets honoring mother earth.
In 2020, there were over 100 million people that celebrated Earth Day all over the world for the 50th anniversary.
You can support the Earth by planting plants, reducing trash, preserving natural habitats. There are many many more ways to be considerate to the environment.
Do you celebrate Earth Day? What are you doing to support Earth and it's environment? If so, let everyone know how by sharing what you do.
Here are a few pictures I took to share the beauty on this Earth's Day.
