Dinner at Yankee Dude Ranch in Hualien, Taiwan

Today we are on vacation in Hualien, Taiwan. After an amazing day at Taroko gorge, we met up with some old friends that we will be staying with. That adventure is here.

For dinner, they planned the restaurant and a set meal for eight people. We went to the, are you ready, Yankee Dude Ranch -seafood restaurant.
Really, that’s the name.

Okay. Now the the awesome food line up.

The first dish had be a little surprisesd. I thought it was a salad with white tree fungus. It turned out to be wild boar skin with onions and vegetables. Delicious anyway.

The second dish was stone cooked fish (I’m not sure the kind) served with salt and lemons.

This is three layered pork served with a rice wine and garlic dipping sauce. This is a very tradition dipping combination.

Stuffed and fried pig intestines. This is only dish i didn’t try. I’m not find of intestines, but they were highly praised by the others.

Of course, white rice. But i really loves the traditional wooden pot.

Tiny clams served with chili peppers and garlic.

This soup is traditional slow cooked chicken with Chinese herbs and wolf berries. It’s
Flavor is really hard to describe. But it’s delicious and very healthy.

Free range chicken cooked in a tin. I’m not sure of the English. But it’s placed in a large tin and set in a fire.

Fried shrimp served with chili, garlic, and scallions.

Fried greens with garlic.

Battered and deep fried sweet potatoes of different cuts.

For dessert, watermelon.
