Every travel, we know that we're not only looking forward to the place we visit, it is a package in gallivant to find out also the best cuisine in the area, foods, fine restaurants, and some delicacies they might offer. These are also the kind of things we want to discover when traveling around.
Last weekend July 29, 2023, after our Hive Onboarding Orientation with @ybanezkim26 and @indayclara together with the Techear-Bloggers of Cebu North in Kalanan National High School Tabogon Cebu, Philippines, we planned to have some side trip after the event and stay for an overnight in one resort in Tabogon Cebu.
Short Story How we find this Place...
I'm the one who booked the resort. I make sure that the accommodation is fine and within our budget (budgetary). I don't worry about the food at first for our dinner cause I saw on their Facebook page profile that they have a restaurant inside and can offer food for the guest. But when Clara asks me to confirm and make sure they can provide food for dinner, I start to get confused about why, So I message again the contact information to confirm.
They have the restaurant inside but one thing that is not sure is the chief cook. They need first to ask the chief to come to the resort to cook for the guest. I was addled by the response cause I expect that the facility like the restaurant on the resort is actively functioning especially if they have guests. But when we reach the resort that day, we have disappointed when they say they can't cater our food for dinner. (Actually, that's the first thing we asked upon registration, cause they didn't confirm for us If they can cater the food before we arrive at the resort.)
By that, we don't have a choice but to move forward (but I'm a little pissed that time 😅) and go to the proper of Tabogon Cebu to find a restaurant that can take our dinner. The busy area of Tabogon Cebu is 2.2 kilometers away from the resort we stay in, it takes us six minutes to reach the area. And here, we discover this cozy cafe restaurant called EDDIES CAFE.
EDDIES CAFE
A place in Poblcion Tabogon Cebu, Philippines where you can eat fine food with your family, chill with hot/cold coffee with friends, and drink brew beers with your travel buddies. A go-to place in Tabogon that will entice you with a relaxing ambiance under a big mango tree, cozy design, and enchanting lighting during nighttime. They have a lot of tables and chairs ready to accommodate you once you visit the place.
They offer different variants of Filipino cuisine; Seafood, pork, chicken, soap, and even ramen you can find it here. If you feel to take a snack, you might try their version of a burger, they have fries, nachos, and shawarma. They also have milk tea, smoothies, and fruit tea for your drinks. You can chill here with beer together with your buddies if you want.
Don't worry about the cost, it will not drain your pocket. The price range is 1$ to 5$ for the food. They are affordable foods and are worth the price. I really want to try all of them cause they are all enticing to try it.
For this Dinner, I choose Lemon Chicken with vegetables and I match it up with a mango smoothie. This Lemon Chicken is new to me, it tastes surprising, and the sauce is a little bit strong which is really I like. The chicken meat is seasoned and tender, and the flavor of the sauce perfectly matches it. I really love how the lemon flavor blended with the sauce and chicken meat. Those stew vegetables as a side dish make the plate more flavorful. And the Mango smoothie as my drink makes my burp taste satisfaction.
This dinner only cost me 5$. The lemon chicken is 3$ and the smoothie is only 2$. It is a worth-it kind of dinner and it discovers me a new flavor on my tastebuds.
For Kim, he ordered also lemon chicken and Clara's order was ramen and we add up pork sisig for the three of us to have more viand on the table. Overall we all like the foods we take in and love the place. We are grateful we have this place.

Takeaways
I have takeaways from this story (it's a little cringy but hear me out), aside from the cozy place we discover and the delightful foods we eat, I also realize how the universe/creator amazingly works out. As I said earlier I was a little pissed off with the restaurant of the resort we stay in but in the end, it's switched me to be grateful it happened, cause we discover a new place that adds up color to our life journey. Sometimes the universe/creator makes us disappoint in the expectation we want for us to find a better place we deserve to discover.
