Hello friends, it's been a while since I participated in the contest, I find today's topic interesting because I have always liked the suspense in the series and movies I watch, but first I think it is appropriate to define the word "Suspense" to enter into context, the suspense is defined as the state of confusion and bewilderment in which a person enters due to a certain situation, and therefore doesn't know what to do, think or say, and there is definitely a movie in which I saw reflected all those emotions, "Smile" directed by Parker Finn and released in 2022.
Hola amigos, hace tiempo que no participo en el concurso, me parece interesante el tema de hoy porque siempre me ha gustado el suspenso en las series y películas que veo, pero antes creo oportuno definir la palabra "Suspenso" para poder entrar en contexto, el suspenso se define como el estado de confusión y desconcierto en el que entra una persona debido a determinada situación, y por lo tanto no sabe lo que debe hacer, pensar o decir, y definitivamente existe una película en la cual vi reflejadas todas esas emociones,"Smile" dirigida por Parker Finn y estrenada en el 2022.
Overview/Resumen
Psychiatrist Rose Cotter witnesses the suicide of one of her patients after a severe anxiety attack, and this situation disturbs her too much, every day she is haunted by disturbing images and situations that make her think that she is carrying a terrible curse, and after investigating and coming to the conclusion that to get rid of the alleged curse she would have to do something terrible, she makes a drastic decision.
la psiquiatra Rose Cotter presencia el suicidio de una de sus pacientes luego de un severo ataque de ansiedad, y esta situación la perturba demasiado, cada día es asechada por imágenes y situaciones perturbadoras que la hacen pensar que lleva a cuestas una terrible maldición, y luego de investigar y llegar a la conclusión de que para librarse de la supuesta maldición tendría que hacer algo terrible toma una drástica decisión.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
In short, it is a resource through which the director intends to keep the audience in expectation, in a state of anxiety about what could happen to the characters, and that is exactly what we all experienced when watching this film, the situations that Dr. Rose Cotter lives are very stressful, often everything is apparently calm, a calm that pretends to be a relief, but ends up generating more tension because you do not know what might happen next. The facial expressions of the characters made me very uneasy and like the protagonist I also felt distrustful of the people around her.
¿Qué es el suspenso en el cine? en resumen, es un recurso a través del cual el director pretende mantener a la audiencia a la expectativa, en un estado de angustia respecto a lo que pudiera sucederle a los personajes, y eso es exactamente lo que todos experimentamos al ver este film, las situaciones que vive la doctora Rose Cotter son muy estresantes, muchas veces todo queda en aparente calma, una calma que pretende ser un alivio, pero termina generando más tensión porque no sabes lo que puede ocurrirle después. Las expresiones faciales de los personajes me generaron mucha inquietud y al igual que la protagonista yo también sentía desconfianza de las personas que la rodeaban.
The performances were brilliant in my opinion, especially the main character perfectly conveys her emotions, but another element worth highlighting is the photography as it is essential when telling a story, in this case there was a particular shot that caught my attention, and it was one where we can see the inverted images, I take this as a graphic representation of Rose's mental and emotional degeneration, her life is in chaos, she is upside down.
Las actuaciones estuvieron brillantes en mi opinión, sobre todo el personaje principal transmite a la perfección sus emociones, pero otro elemento digno de destacar es la fotografía ya que es esencial a la hora de contar una historia, en este caso hubo un plano en particular que llamó mi atención, y era uno donde podemos ver las imágenes invertidas, yo tomo esto como una representación gráfica de la degeneración mental y emocional de Rose, su vida es un caos, está de cabeza.
I definitely recommend watching this movie if you really like horror and strong emotions in the cinema, as we watch it we want to get to the bottom of the situation, but at the same time we are afraid of the outcome.
