No soy una mala persona pero siempre me he sentido atraído por la oscuridad de los villanos cuyos propósitos están muy bien fundamentados, tanto que me hacen reflexionar sobre si tienen la razón en su lucha, es su obsesión lo que la mayoría de las veces los hace caer, los hace humanos, me hace empatizar con ellos. Se que muchos escogerán personajes con una moral bien definida dadas sus buenas acciones pero hago énfasis en que todo depende de como mires la historia, sobre que lado de la moneda te posiciones ya que esto puede influir en la dirección que cae la balanza.
El personaje que he elegido para el concurso Character Most Like You! porque siento es aquel que mas me representa es el General Zod de la película "Man of Steel", sí, es un villano que a su vez es una persona real con errores, aferrado a las tradiciones de su planeta que no le dejan ver mas allá pero con muchas aptitudes a admirar mis buenos muchachones y muchachonas de #hive. Un personaje estratega que ejerce como líder nato, calculador, decisivo, cruel cuando tiene que serlo al tomar las decisiones necesarias para lograr sus objetivos incluyendo sacrificios porque nada es perfecto, obsesionado con su misión ya que ama a su pueblo y a su planeta natal Krypton, su hogar. Características del personaje que iré describiendo la razón por la cual me siento identificado con ellas.
I am not a bad person but I have always been attracted to the darkness of villains whose purposes are very well grounded, so much so that they make me reflect on whether they are right in their struggle, it is their obsession that most of the time brings them down, it makes them human, it makes me empathize with them. I know that many will choose characters with a well-defined moral given their good deeds but I emphasize that it all depends on how you look at the story, on which side of the coin you stand as this can influence the direction the balance falls.
The character I have chosen for the contest Character Most Like You! because I feel it is the one that most represents me is General Zod from the movie "Man of Steel", yes, he is a villain who is also a real person with mistakes, clinging to the traditions of his planet that do not let him see beyond but with many skills to admire my good boys and girls of #hive. A strategist character that works as a born leader, calculating, decisive, cruel when he has to be when he has to make the necessary decisions to achieve his goals including sacrifices because nothing is perfect, obsessed with his mission because he loves his people and his home planet Krypton, his home. Characteristics of the character that I will be describing the reason why I feel identified with them.
En mi vida universitaria conocí algo que estaba en lo profundo de mi alma, va de la mano con mi profesión de ingeniería y es el amor por los números, si que me hicieron sufrir en aquella época pero es en ellos donde consigo paz, mis amadas ecuaciones. Veo la vida como una variable, soy muy calculador, todo debe tener una razón de ser, una variable que responda a una perturbación debe tener una solución predeterminada para así poder tomar la mejor decisión, lamentablemente esas decisiones traen consecuencias.
No siempre en la vida vamos a tener la opción de tomar esa decisión en la que todos sean felices, de hecho pienso siempre hay sacrificios que son necesarios para forjar carácter, la vida si que se encarga de enseñarnos esto, hay decisiones crueles que son necesarias, inevitables, somos humanos y tendremos que cargar por siempre con las consecuencias de nuestros actos que para bien o para mal influyen en quienes nos rodean, nos importen o no.
Obsesionado con el bienestar de mi familia, para ellos existo, los amo con todo mi ser, me levanto cada día con mucha emoción, fe y alegría para conseguir el pan del hogar, su comodidad, su disfrute, soy muy tradicional en mis gustos, me encanta ver a mi mama sonreír cuando traigo algo para ella, estar en el hogar es para mi el cielo, siento que para ello nací y toda acción que realizo es por su bienestar y no permitiré que algún mal se acerque a ellos.
All this I feel in my being because on the way I always think about things, I do not like to lead life as a madness without a definite direction just because many people like to do that, I like to control it, take advantage of every element of control that serves me for that purpose and for that I use the strategies I have learned throughout my life experience, when I work I put all the potential of my mind to the maximum, it is so much that it becomes obsessive when I fail to solve a situation, creating in me a lot of anxiety and even taking away the desire to sleep when this happens. Being a strategist is an aspect of my life that I enjoy and love, I would just like to dose it because when I can't sleep, it becomes annoying, no matter how much we would like to control things and put together thousands of strategies for it, life will always surprise us with its infinite possibilities.
In my university life I met something that was deep in my soul, it goes hand in hand with my engineering profession and it is the love for numbers, yes they made me suffer at that time but it is in them where I get peace, my beloved equations. I see life as a variable, I am very calculating, everything must have a reason to be, a variable that responds to a disturbance must have a predetermined solution in order to make the best decision, unfortunately those decisions bring consequences.
Not always in life we will have the option to make that decision in which everyone will be happy, in fact I think there are always sacrifices that are necessary to forge character, life is in charge of teaching us this, there are cruel decisions that are necessary, inevitable, we are human and we will have to carry forever with the consequences of our actions that for better or worse influence those around us, whether we care or not.
Obsessed with the welfare of my family, for them I exist, I love them with all my being, I get up every day with great emotion, faith and joy to get the bread of home, their comfort, their enjoyment, I am very traditional in my tastes, I love to see my mom smile when I bring something for her, being at home is heaven for me, I feel that for this I was born and every action I take is for their welfare and I will not allow any evil to approach them.
Lo que mas amo del General Zod es su carácter, su presencia, como con una mirada logra domar a cualquier persona que pueda tener al frente, esto en la película se ve reflejado muchas veces con sus subordinados, uno de ellos Faora-Ul la cual no es cualquier personita domable, ella tiene un carácter dominante y a pesar de esto sigue con toda lealtad a su líder, cree en él y lo seguirá hasta el final.
Una escena en la película que también demuestra como Zod se impone sobre la humanidad usando solo su voz, es la escena donde ocurre el primer encuentro de nuestra especie con los invasores alienígenas en la que Clark esta junto a su madre y notan que en el televisor llega una transmisión, una señal fuera de este mundo que llega a cada hogar y rincón del planeta, es de noche y las luces se apagan mientras la señal inicia con una voz dominante que dice en todos los idiomas "No Están Solos" mientras todo el planeta tiembla ante este acontecimiento.
El General Zod influye de distintas formas en mi persona, nombre al inicio de esta publicación distintas características que me llaman la atención pero haré énfasis en una de ellas que son las decisiones que toma y con ellas se ramifican otras influencias como pueden ser a nivel familiar, profesional, trabajo etc. Mencione anteriormente que me gusta tener las cosas calculadas en mi vida, de ser posible quisiera un cuadrado perfecto pero el destino es cruel y no le gustan las figuras geométricas perfectas, acá es donde influye la toma de decisiones.
En la película el General Zod toma la decisión de terraformar el planeta Tierra para así crear un ecosistema idéntico al del extinto Krypton sin importar las millones de vidas inocentes que va sacrificar, decisión cruel pero necesaria para poder continuar con la vida de su especie, el general tiene en su código de ADN el ser un líder, un guerrero, un soldado que no descansara hasta lograr su misión, proteger su especie a toda costa, es en este momento donde al colocarme en los zapatos del General, haría exactamente lo mismo.
Soy muy tradicional, familiar y protejo mi hogar, recuerdo una vez que mi mama estuvo enferma y en el trabajo no querían darme el permiso, al siguiente día no fui y fin de la historia, un trabajo miserable no va a estar por encima del bienestar de un familiar y menos el de mi mama, fue una decisión que dejo consecuencias como volver a buscar trabajo que a la final no hice porque conseguí en internet la misma cantidad monetaria que me ofrecían en el puesto laboral.
Toda decisión tiene consecuencias y sufro porque no puedo calcularlas todas pero si requieren sacrificios, los tomare y en mi mente siempre quedaran las consecuencias de mis decisiones, mis seres queridos serian equivalentes a la especie kryptoniana y mi hogar seria análogo a Krypton y yo seria ese guerrero que los defenderá a capa y espada.
What I love most about General Zod is his character, his presence, how with a look he manages to tame anyone he can have in front of him, this in the movie is reflected many times with his subordinates, one of them Faora-Ul which is not just any little tameable person, she has a dominant character and despite this she follows with all loyalty to her leader, she believes in him and will follow him until the end.
A scene in the movie that also shows how Zod imposes himself over humanity using only his voice, is the scene where the first encounter of our species with the alien invaders occurs, in which Clark is with his mother and they notice that a transmission arrives on the TV, a signal out of this world that reaches every home and corner of the planet, it is night and the lights go out while the signal starts with a dominant voice that says in all languages "You are not alone" while the whole planet trembles before this event.
General Zod influences me in different ways, name at the beginning of this publication different characteristics that call my attention but I will emphasize one of them which are the decisions he makes and with them other influences branch out as they can be at family, professional, work, etc. I mentioned before that I like to have things calculated in my life, if possible I would like a perfect square but destiny is cruel and does not like perfect geometric figures, here is where the decision making influences.
In the movie General Zod makes the decision to terraform the planet Earth to create an ecosystem identical to that of the extinct Krypton regardless of the millions of innocent lives he will sacrifice, cruel but necessary decision to continue the life of his species, the general has in his DNA code to be a leader, a warrior, a soldier who will not rest until his mission is accomplished, to protect his species at all costs, it is at this moment where to place myself in the shoes of the General, I would do exactly the same.
I am very traditional, familiar and I protect my home, I remember once my mother was sick and at work did not want to give me permission, the next day I did not go and end of story, a miserable job will not be above the welfare of a family member and less my mother's, it was a decision that left consequences such as returning to look for work that in the end I did not do because I got on the internet the same amount of money that I was offered in the job.
Every decision has consequences and I suffer because I can not calculate them all but if they require sacrifices, I will take them and in my mind will always remain the consequences of my decisions, my loved ones would be equivalent to the Kryptonian species and my home would be analogous to Krypton and I would be that warrior who will defend them with sword and sword.
El actor Michael Shannon es quien da vida al General Zod en la película "Man of Steel" y su presencia cinematográfica logra tocar nervio en el espectador, el guión esta muy bien escrito para este personaje haciendo que cada línea de diálogo se aproveche al máximo para transmitir todas las emociones que en efecto, son de carácter muy agresivo como cuando le dice a Superman en plena batalla "Solo existe una manera en que esto terminara Kal... tu mueres o yo muero", al interactuar con la madre de Superman llamada Lara y decirle "... LO ENCONTRARE!!!" refiriéndose al hijo de ella justo antes de ser lanzado a la zona fantasma para pagar condena por sus crímenes.
El aspecto guión se maneja de manera acorde al personaje pero es el actor quien logra hacer un engranaje perfecto, lo adopta, mima a su personaje porque una cosa es lo que leemos y otra muy diferente es lo que vemos, cuando miro al actor, no veo a Michael Shannon, yo veo al General Zod, el look del personaje acompañado de todas las vestimentas alienígenas donde el trabajo de vestuario es una genialidad ya que trasladan la visual del comic a la realidad, la barba de chivo que le da un aspecto agresivo al personaje y que van de la mano con todas las facciones faciales del actor cuyas energías logran llegar al espectador a través de su voz y mirada.
The actor Michael Shannon is who gives life to General Zod in the movie "Man of Steel" and his cinematic presence manages to touch nerve in the viewer, the script is very well written for this character making each line of dialogue is used to the maximum to convey all the emotions that in effect, are very aggressive character as when he tells Superman in full battle "There is only one way this will end Kal ... you die or I die", when interacting with Superman's mother named Lara and tell him ".... The script aspect is handled according to the character but it is the actor who manages to make a perfect gear, he adopts it, he pampers his character because one thing is what we read and quite another is what we see, when I look at the actor, I don't see Michael Shannon, I see General Zod, the look of the character accompanied by all the alien costumes where the costume work is a genius since they transfer the visual of the comic book to reality, the goatee that gives an aggressive look to the character and that go hand in hand with all the facial features of the actor whose energies manage to reach the viewer through his voice and look.
Cada vez que veo esta película me hipnotiza con toda la visual que la acompaña y claro que tiene muchas escenas que simplemente me dejan alucinando pero hay una de ellas que me deja sin palabras, es justo antes del enfrentamiento entre Superman y Zod en donde el General ya ha perdido a sus subordinados, la maquina para terraformar el planeta Tierra esta destruida, simplemente queda el frente a frente con Superman mientras sostiene un poco de polvo que levanta del suelo para decirle "Mira esto... pudimos haber construido un nuevo Krypton en este miserable lugar pero elegiste a los humanos por encima de nosotros... yo solo existo para proteger a Krypton, ese es el propósito para el cual nací y cada acción que he tomado ha sido para el bien de mi gente... ahora no tengo gente... mi alma... ESO ES LO QUE ME HAZ ARREBATADO!!!".
Selecciono esta escena por el diálogo profundo que contiene, la carga emotiva que cada palabra transmite es la lucha de Zod para la supervivencia de su especie además del tono, la atmósfera que se genera alrededor de ella, lo impulsa la venganza y no se detendrá hasta que alguno muera. Zod perdió su alma, su gente, su especie ya no volverá y no acepta que su planeta ya pereció y descargara toda su rabia en ese kryptoniano, uno como él que eligió a otra especie por encima de la propia.
Every time I see this movie I am mesmerized by all the visuals that accompany it and of course it has many scenes that simply leave me hallucinating but there is one of them that leaves me speechless, it is just before the confrontation between Superman and Zod where the General has already lost his subordinates, the machine to terraform the planet Earth is destroyed, he is simply face to face with Superman while holding a little dust that rises from the ground to say "Look at this. ...we could have built a new Krypton in this miserable place but you chose humans over us... I only exist to protect Krypton, that is the purpose for which I was born and every action I have taken has been for the good of my people... and now I have no people... my soul... THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE TAKEN FROM ME!!!".
I select this scene for the deep dialogue it contains, the emotional charge that every word conveys is Zod's struggle for the survival of his species plus the tone, the atmosphere that is generated around it, he is driven by vengeance and will not stop until one of them dies. Zod lost his soul, his people, his species will not return and he does not accept that his planet has already perished and he will unload all his rage on that Kryptonian, one like him who chose another species over his own.
Pienso que el General Zod es genial porque es un personaje contraparte de Superman, es decir, le complementa al ser su primer villano dándole sentido a toda la historia que ha logrado trascender décadas y estoy seguro continuará por siglos maravillando la mente de personas que como yo ven en esta lucha la representación de la vida, mas allá del bien contra el mal, es la lucha de dos personajes que buscan cumplir su propósito el cual es proteger lo que mas aman, su hogar, dos caras de la moneda que nos reflejan las situaciones difíciles que nos puede colocar el destino.
La representación de un líder nato, uno verdadero que va al frente guiando a su gente en lo que piensa es lo mejor, no es un simple ser que da ordenes, da el ejemplo, ganándose así el respeto de aquellos que lo rodean como el padre de Superman llamado Jor-el, a pesar de tener ideas contrarias, es evidente y el espectador logra respirar el respeto mutuo entre estos dos personajes donde uno lucha por la esperanza y el otro simplemente sucumbe al abismo atractivo de la oscuridad y se ciega ante su único deber, proteger a Krypton.
Un placer hablar de este personaje, compartir el lore desde mi total punto de vista al asumirlo como mio ya que nombro características propias que considero están en el a la vez que comparto mis dibujos sobre el personaje los cuales realice con mucho cariño ya que no soy muy buen dibujante, espero se logre apreciar en ellos el cuanto representa este personaje para mi. Quisiera leer en comentarios cualquier duda o sugerencia, sin mas que decir, me despido mis buenos y buenas muchachones de #hive amantes del cine y las series.
I think General Zod is great because he is a counterpart character to Superman, that is, he complements him by being his first villain giving sense to the whole story that has managed to transcend decades and I am sure will continue for centuries marveling the minds of people like me who see in this struggle the representation of life, beyond good against evil, is the struggle of two characters who seek to fulfill their purpose which is to protect what they love most, their home, two sides of the coin that reflect the difficult situations that fate can place us.
The representation of a born leader, a true one who goes to the front guiding his people in what he thinks is the best, he is not a simple being who gives orders, he sets the example, thus earning the respect of those around him as Superman's father named Jor-el, despite having contrary ideas, is evident and the viewer manages to breathe the mutual respect between these two characters where one fights for hope and the other simply succumbs to the attractive abyss of darkness and is blinded by his only duty, to protect Krypton.
A pleasure to talk about this character, to share the lore from my total point of view to assume it as mine since I name my own characteristics that I consider to be in him at the same time that I share my drawings about the character which I made with much affection since I am not very good draftsman, I hope you can appreciate in them how much this character represents for me.
