Hi from Singapore & let's do HPUM & HiveBloPoMo! Who's in?

It is hot! 🥵

Far out, I forgot how hot it is this close to the equator. 😂

About 7 years ago I spent more than a year living in Indonesia (on the island of Bali) and I got so used to the weather that in "winter" I would wear jeans and a jumper to go to the morning market! 😝

Since I returned I spent a couple of years living in cooler and less humid Sydney, and then the last four and half years living in warmer-than-Sydney-but-not-as-hot-as-Bali Brisbane. 🤔

I thought I was still pretty good with the heat but walking along the river near Boat Quay this morning I was quickly melting into a pile of human goop. 🥴

I insisted on shade. And soon after, aircon. On route, to iced coffee. ☕

I felt a million times better once we found a coffee shop with aircon, coffee, sugary treats and no line to get in. 🤦‍♀️

I think I must be spoilt; I am so not used to having to line up for more than 2-3 minutes at most to get a coffee. One line I saw, both for takeaways and sit in service, was around the block. 🤐

Anyway, with my body cooler and caffeine and sugar onboard (the former being normal for me, the latter not so much) we headed back out into the gorgeous Gardens By The Bay. 🌴🎋🌳

Public Service Announcement: If you ever find your in Singapore, even if it requires making your layover longer by half a day, go to the Gardens By The Bay. It is totally, gobsmackingly amazing. 🤯

And, that's it for this post. I need a wee little nap before we head out into the heat again. More posts on the awesome, silly surprises of Singapore on your screen soon. 😁

This post was made possible by the internet I'm borrowing from @new.things and the air con in our expensive but fabulous room. 🙌
