It is Hive Power-up Day, and I have been looking forward to this for a while because over the last couple of weeks I have been buying some Hive, especially since we had that dip back then and while it is still lower than it was before the dip, the price seems to be leveling back out.
The main reason I wanted to pick up some more Hive was that I was looking at my HP and saw that I wasn't too far away from becoming a Dolphin, and while I could have made it there by Christmas, I figured I would speed up the process a bit. Also, it was good timing as I was about to purchase my first stack of Hive and then I noticed the fall, so I held off for a bit to see what would happen and if I could get a better deal; I did and I'm glad I had the money sitting there to buy it.
How My Month Has Been
All in all, pretty darn good. There have been a few nice days out, and a good buzz in general. The baby is doing great, friends, family, everyone is doing great, and Hive is all good.
Actually, I have successfully onboarded some people, introducing @xkasabian who wrote This Introduction Post yesterday, and he got some good engagement and I'm delighted to see that he is chatting back with everyone. As far as I know, he has some good ideas for posts to come and I'm looking forward to reading them. If anyone thinks they can impart some wisdom on him and his new journey, don't hesitate to head over to his post and leave him some advice.
Today I got an add from a new account, a brand new account in fact, called @mclynchy while she hasn't written an introduction post yet, it's great to see her on here and commenting, she was onboarded by @xkasabian so that's great to see, the word is spreading and more people are coming here, and that's what we want. I'll try to guide them as best I can, and I'm sure the community will help out too. Pretty soon they'll be Minnows, seems like yesterday I became one and now I'm hitting Dolphin.
I noticed - with the help of Hive Stats - that I'm earning about 300 HP a month, so by my calculations by around January I would have hit Dophin - 5646 HP - naturally, obviously that's if I managed to keep up the daily posting until then.
Currently, I have posted daily for 6 full months now, and I'm going to keep this streak going as long as I can.
On To The Power-up
To start off, I have 1,783.423 Liquid Hive in my account.
Combing that with my 3,881.110 should get me over the threshold.
I had it loaded up and ready to go, slightly worried in case for some strange reason I didn't get over the threshold to get to Dolphin.
Here we are now, 5665.357 HP and a vote weight of 0.065 which is amazing.
That's about it for the power-up day; I'm delighted, and always look forward to this day. Gaining HP throughout the month kind of sneaks up on me and I never really feel that growth. But, when it comes to HPUD, it's like getting a bit jolt to the account.
Goals
I'm so happy to see this sort of growth to my account, and the fact that I've managed to hit such a milestone. I would like to reach 6k HP by the first of August, and I'm even thinking about picking up some more Hive if I can throughout the month.
It's nice putting some of my own skin in the game, as the saying goes, and to be honest, I'm delighted to do so because I really believe in this blockchain, community, and the future of Hive as a whole.
I decided to add another goal here, rather than just concentrating on the HP goals I'd like to hit, I want to also put down an onboarding goal. I know a lot of people who would really bring something to Hive if I could only get them on here. So, I'm going to set the goal that in the month of July I would like to Onboard 2 people. I have a few people in mind, but I'll just need to sit down with them at the laptops and get cracking.
Hive is a lot to explain, and I find without having any of it open in front of the person, it is much harder for them to grasp it.
So there it is, my goals for next month will be to hit 6k and onboard 2 people, maybe they are tough goals, but I think they're achievable.
