What reports, they haven't done that at all. IED? They blew up one building, video of which didn't show any Russians in it. They have consistently dug in and defended across the entire line, the Russians are not only pummeling them with artillery, but they are raiding and constantly probing.
Ukrainian forces absolutely will move back if pushed however doing so extracts a massive cost.
