We do not have a functional democracy. That's not just America but all over the world; America is just leading the rest of the world on these matters, and provides us with the best example. The power of money prevents democracy from truly functioning as it's supposed to, because it's opposed to free speech.

This is not a hard concept to understand; ownership matters. What I mean is that employees generally do not speak up against their employers; this goes for anyone anywhere who wants to keep their job. That's why strong worker unions are so important, and why they've been deconstructed over the past decades; only united can workers speak up against their employers. But as an individual, and we've all been made to believe we are just individuals, entirely responsible for our lot in life, we keep our mouths shut. This goes for media corporations as well; there's a slim to no chance at all you'll ever read anything too bad about Amazon or its owner in the Washington post. Jeff Bezos owns the WP after all.
Only six large corporations own almost all mainstream media on screen and on paper, and one of them is Disney. Disney owns ABC news, so you'll never hear about Disney paying their workers starvation wages, or Disney being the main force behind stuffing our popular culture icons with politically correct woke messaging. Disney is in fact one of the world's largest threats to truth because as a corporation its main task is making money; they tell us what sells, not what we need to hear. I think we all "know" what lemmings are: they're cute little rodents that inexplicably commit mass-suicide by walking off a cliff and drowning in the sea. This little "fact" is so well known that there was even a world famous and addicting video-game made about this weird behavior; in this cute puzzle/action game it was the players' task to rescue the lemmings who wanted to walk off that cliff. Problem is, lemmings don't do that; it was a 1958 Disney nature film in which this myth was invented:
But the biggest reason the myth endures? Deliberate fraud. For the 1958 Disney nature film White Wilderness, filmmakers eager for dramatic footage staged a lemming death plunge, pushing dozens of lemmings off a cliff while cameras were rolling. The images—shocking at the time for what they seemed to show about the cruelty of nature and shocking now for what they actually show about the cruelty of humans—convinced several generations of moviegoers that these little rodents do, in fact, possess a bizarre instinct to destroy themselves.

Disney's fight against truth continues, so here's the news I want to share with you today: ABC has suspended one of its senior investigative news reporters because he said in a private conversation that ABC has become a Disney propaganda outlet, and because he labeled himself a socialist. ABC says that they made that decision to prevent the possibility of "biased" reporting. Watch the video to get outraged about this blatant abuse of power and to remind yourself that money really IS power. Our public and private lifes are shaped by corporate power, not by "big government", and it's time to change that, time to take democracy back from the money-power into the hands of the people. This news broke on the same day that the New York Times published an article based on interviews with 93 Democratic superdelegates, and they admitted that they would even damage their own party in order to stop Bernie Sanders from becoming their presidential nominee. These are troubling times indeed...
