Quid Pro Joe

Need I say more? You can buy the T-shirt on Amazon, and I wager we'll be seeing a lot of those come the general elections if Biden indeed becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.

It would be the irony of all ironies, if the corona virus delivers the presidency to the one Democratic candidate who said he would veto medicare for all if it somehow reached his desk in the Oval Office. But what's especially egregious, is that Joe Biden's track-record is worse than Trump's. Remember the impeachment? Of course you do, and you also remember that Biden's son, Hunter Biden, who has a long history of drug abuse and, let's say "problems with women" , was implicated in that process: Hunter got a 50,000 dollar per month position on the board of some gas corporation with his only qualification being his last name. Joe Biden's defense was that his son qualified for the job because "he's a smart kid." In the past his son held a position at a railway related corporation for which he was equally unqualified, but uncle Joe justified that situation by saying: "He rides on the train a lot." Joe Biden pushed through the disastrous bankruptcy bill that now prevents millions of students to ever get rid of their student loan debt, and he did that on behalf of the credit card company MBNA; he was mockingly called "the Senator from MBNA" because the entire Senate knew he was bought. And again Hunter Biden was to benefit from his father's corrupt dealings. Here's an excerpt from a 1998 article on that whole rotten deal:

Biden and MBNA have indeed developed a pretty cozy relationship. John Cochran, the company’s vice-chairman and chief marketing officer, did pay top dollar for Biden’s house, and MBNA gave Cochran a lot of money—$330,000—to help with “expenses” related to the move. A few months after the sale, as Biden’s re-election effort got under way, MBNA’s top executives contributed generously to his campaign in a series of coordinated donations that sidestepped the limits on contributions by the company’s political action committee. And then, a short time after the election, MBNA hired Biden’s son for a lucrative job in which, according to bank officials, he is being groomed for a senior management position.

Quid Pro Joe

Later it's mentioned that "MBNA has given more to some Republicans than it gave to Biden"; that's how these things work, the company doesn't care about ideology and will pay anyone who will do their bidding. Right now, that's Trump and he's serving the interests of the establishments pretty well. And Trump WILL expose Biden for the corrupt swamp-dweller that he is. If the American people have to choose between two deeply corrupt candidates, they'll go with the Devil they already know; Trump will crush Biden in general elections. Only circumstantial influences can change that, like if the economy crashes, possibly as a result of the corona virus, because the economy is Trump's only real strong point.

I've only scratched the surface of Joe Biden's troublesome political record; we can be sure the Trump campaign will dig a lot deeper and point out how Joe has been on the wrong side of any major topic in the past decades; how he sided with segregationists to stop integration of black children, how his 1994 crime bill fed the prison-industrial complex with countless new black "customers", how he has tried to cut a deal with Republicans to cut entitlements like medicaid, pensions and veterans benefits over and over again and so on. Yesterday a list leaked with possible picks for a Biden administration, and it's a list from neoliberal inferno: Bloomberg as head of the World Bank, Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, Anne Finucane, vice chairman of Bank of America for Treasury, and yes, Elizabeth Warren is floated for that same position. The list was leaked to Axios, and here it is: "Joe Biden's secret governing plan." Seems that Warren's refusal to endorse Sanders might have something to do with her own personal Quid Pro Joe; "don't endorse Bernie, stay in the race as long as possible, and you might be rewarded with a position in my administration." Warren is forever lost to the progressive movement, as she has proven herself to be a typical politician who only cares about her own chances. She said it herself: "I'm just a player in the game."

That's why Sanders is in an impossible position right now: he refuses to be a player in the game because the game is rigged against the people. I read and hear many criticisms about the Sanders campaign saying that he's just not politically savvy enough, that he should have tried harder to forge relationships with people inside the Washington bubble. But that's not possible without going back on his word and life-long conviction that politicians have a responsibility to the voters, not to each other or wealthy donors and corporations. There's a reason why he's a life long Independent. Tonight there are six states voting, and this will be make or break for the Sanders campaign. Biden now has the Joe-mentum and he's strewn around many quid pro Joe's, garnering him daily endorsements from the party establishment daily since the South Carolina primary election. If Biden wins and becomes the Democratic nominee, Trump wins the 2020 general elections. Watch Cody from Some More News; this is how I, and I bet many other progressives, feel right now. Last chance to stop #StatusQuoJoe...
