Last weekend I attended the Italian Carnivorous Plants Meeting, a wonderful event that takes place every year and involves hundreds of enthusiasts from all over the country!
This year the festival took place in the city of Bagnacavallo, in the province of Ravenna (northern Italy). The days were simply splendid with sun, heat and lots of energy.
There were numerous stands of plant sellers from all over Italy and also from Germany. Furthermore, during the meeting some educational events and workshops were held to introduce people to these special plants: how to grow them, how to propagate them and take care of them.
My favorite initiative was the Carnivorous Olympics: a competition in which it was possible to vote for the most beautiful carnivorous plant of the festival! Among all the species present it was not easy: Sarracenia, Dioneae, Heliamphora, Drosera, Nepenthes, …

Buongiorno Hivers e bentornati sul mio Blog!
Lo scorso fine settimana ho partecipato al Meeting Italiano di Piante Carnivore, un bellissimo evento che si svolge ogni anno e che coinvolge centinaia di appassionati provenienti da tutto il Paese!
Quest’anno la sede prescelta è stata la città di Bagnacavallo, in provincia di Ravenna. Le giornate sono state semplicemente splendide con sole, caldo e tanta energia.
Erano presenti numerosi stand di venditori di piante provenienti da tutta Italia e anche dalla Germania. Inoltre, nel corso del meeting si sono tenuti alcuni eventi divulgativi e workshop per far conoscere alle persone queste piante speciali: come coltivarle, come propagarle e prendersene cura.
La mia iniziativa preferita è stata l’Olimpiade Carnivora: una gara nella quale era possibile votare la pianta carnivora più bella del festival! Tra tutte le specie presenti non è stato facile: Sarracenia, Dioneae, Heliamphora, Drosera, Nepenthes, …
