The Magi of the Chaosium are the heralds of the Legion itself. For hundreds of years they met and studied in secret, gathering ancient artifacts and scraps of forbidden knowledge, much that was once thought lost. As the convergence grew close they plied the void for its treasures and listened furtively to the voices in the dark to make way for the coming of the Lord of Chaos. Once the way was opened and doom poured from the sky they rose from their hidden places to claim the promise of power from their dark masters.
“The void whispered to us in the dreams of children. The Magus was the first to realize their significance. Answers came slowly.
In bits and pieces he stitched the threads of their rambling screams to complete the work. It was only after the first successful transmutation that the veil began to tear and the void in the dark could reveal itself to us.
It was they that spoke to us in nightmares. It was they that answered our prayers, solving the riddle of the crypteia and opening the way for those beyond. They offered so much and asked for so little in return, a simple sacrifice of blood and bone and the power of chaos would be ours.”

Card Review
Prons
Neutral Element cards can be used together with any other elements depending on the ruleset.
Magic damage can directly get past most armors, dealing direct damage to the health of the opponent.
Cons
- Slow speed that remains the same even after reaching max level.
Magi of Chaos, as a Neutral Element magic monster, is a useable card on any element that can deal direct damage to the opponent's health, disregarding most armors. At Silver, it's magic damage goes to 3 from the base damage of 2 and when it reaches max level, it will have a total of 4 magic damage. It only has one ability which is Oppress that is helpful when attacking against a monster that has no attack because it deals twice the damage to them. It does not cost too much mana so Magi of Chaos can still work on some low mana matches. The only downside of this card is that it is quite slow and its speed will not change even after leveling -up to max level.

Battle Phase

Because range monsters are banned due to the rule set, the only option is to either go with melee and magic so what I did was to go with magic because it can pass through most armor no matter how thick it is then I use the Earth summoner Obsidian because it gives +1 magic on magic monsters. My line- up goes with Failed summoner to absorb attacks from the 1st position monster followed by Mycelic Slipspawn that will take attacks from any monster that can attack that is not in the first position. Queen Mycelia will provide armor using Protect then both Spirit hoarder and Goblin Psychic will provide heal. Magi of Chaos provides the biggest magic damage for my team. The opponent choose the other way around as he chooses Kelya Frendul that gives +1 armor and +1 speed and a team of melee monsters.

On round 1, Diemonshark was down despite it's thick armor because magic is just passing through them and Flying Squid is also down to only 4 health and was afflicted by Goblin Psychic which means that it cannot be healed. on the other hand Failed Summoner and Mycelic Slipspawn also recieves damage but some of them was restored so they survived the first round.

With round 2, Both Flying Squid and Merdaali Guardian are defeated and Deeplurker also recieves damage but this time, the healer was out so no one can heal it anymore. None of my monster was defeated this round.

Round 3 ended with only Pelacor Bandit was left but not before Deeplurker defeated Failed Summoner.

The Battle ended in round 4 just after it started. That was because Pelacor Bandit only has 1 health left so no matter how much he resist, it cannot change the outcome of the match.

Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at 3speak or in Splinterlands.

Did your Strategy Work?
I find a great success of using Magi of Chaos together with my Obsidian team since they are heavily focused on magic but also has armor and healing support which allows my monsters to last longer as I also directed the majority of the damage on a Mycelic Slipspawn preventing them to attack the monsters with lower health.

Do You Like Magi of Chaos?
Neutral monsters provide great utility on the way that they can be used in combination of any element, giving more options on building a good team. That is why, having Magi of Chaos is a great card for me.

What will you try differently next time?

I also like to try using Magi of Chaos together with the Water summoner Alric Stormbringer And Dragon summoner Delwyn Dragonscale as they both boost the magic of monsters by +1 and there are also lots of very powerful water and dragon monsters that I can combined together with this summoner.
