Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on HIVE and to all the users and projects of HIVE-ENGINE - Here's to another year of building! There are more projects than ever using hive-engine, and this is to us is really good news - it continues to grow its resilience and robustness.
This year, @bala41288 built @ecoinstant a bot so he can poke the witness box whenever Bala is on a train.
By validating the hive-engine blocks, our witness continues to earn BEE tokens. We used to use these to pay our server costs, especially when HIVE was expensive. So now in this crypto bear we are looking more and more to HBD to pay off our witness expenses, I thought it would be something fun to consider what exciting things we can do with all this BEE.
I considered a few different projects, and we still are, but for this Christmas, after much thought and no small degree of theorizing where the greatest impact could be, we have decided to use 1000 BEE to create a Liquidity Pool.
PsyberX and @PsyberSects
@psyberx is an upcoming FPS game that has based its community on HIVE. It is something of a passion project, and depends a lot on community efforts to keep the dream alive, get the word out and otherwise fill some of the gaps in building a whole gaming universe. They appear to be releasing a multiplayer game....right now.
@psybersects is independent, started by @ecoinstant. I suppose it hopes to do exactly what we continue to do under the Synergy Fund umbrella - help projects build and make connections - focusing on the gaming front of this effort.
@locolombia recently sent 1000 BEE to @psybersects for the creation of a new LP:
And indeed - It is done!
Why this pool?
One important point is that the project already had a pool, and not a weird one, pooled with swap.hive. Because Swap.ETH:Swap.HIVE already exists (and has 80k USD of liquidity), it now becomes the strong anchor in an arbitrage triangle when we create the LVL:Swap.ETH pool.
Also, the swap.ETH pool strengthens the connection to Myria, where @psyberX are selling their Silver and Gold passes to get in on the founder testing of the multiplayer game.
Low Liquidity is a reality, also a red flag for new investors interested in a project. With this pool, the team plans to bring in ETH from Myria sales and increase the 'corporate liquidity' around the LVL token. This should allow the community a deeping pool with which to trade in and out of their LVL token - which presumably they are winning and losing in matches of the actual game.
If these crazy kids are successful, this could be a big win-win for Hive and Hive-Engine.
What other pools do you think could help expand our ecosystem?
If we were to donate another pool, which pool should we choose? Chime in your opinion in the comment with some valid reasoning to earn an upvote.
@locolombia is currently the 13th rank in the 15th slot as hive-engine witness, and we would really appreciate your vote, which can be done here. As a reminder, WORKERBEE stake is what is used to determine vote size for Hive-Engine operators.
Its a pretty tight race for top 20 spots, and there has even been recent talk about decaying witness votes, which would make it even trickier to stay up. Running the node is one thing, everything else is extra. Some do dev work, test cases, documentation (Buehler?), but we are networkers. We talk and connect, guide and write, share and invite.
Basically we live on hive-engine, how can we not support it?
We donate this LP pool to the @psyberx Community as a monument to (not just the 'what have you done for me lately's but) the belief that building together in an open-source way we can all achieve more.
