In the land of the Splinters, the sound of battle is like fine wine, sweet to the belly and soothing to the soul, tis like honey in the honey comb, tis like magic in the eye of the sky...

In the land of the Splinters, there is fire, water, life, death and earth, let your heart be your guide to the dragons, as your summoners arise from deep within you.

Eh! a little lore here and there never hurt anyone right?...I've been visiting the Splinterlore.com site a little more than before these days and its because I find interesting stuff there, there are tons of lore's and fan-art and fun stuff all about Splinterlands there. It reminds me of the lore in Lord of the Rings, if you haven't seen it, you should head over there, cool stuff.

So what do you think of my poetic lore? :D Stay tuned for more....

Okay,... so to what I have for this post, this weeks Splinterlands "show off your battle" challenge was to use the the Serpentine spy in winning a battle.

I'm a huge fan of low mana cards, especially low mana cards with an ability like "sneaking" or "opportunity", this makes the Serpentine spy one of my favorite cards in the Fire Splinter right alongside Kobold Miner. Infact I've won tons of battle by combining both cards and this show-off will just be one of the many.

The Serpentine Spy is a super cool card at its highest levels where it can give a damage of 4 hits, sneak and also poison, all within a 3 mana card, pretty much lethal yeah? I presently have mine at level 2, where it gives a damage of 2 hits but has only one life, meaning I have to be strategic about its positioning when in battle.

Challenge

So I was challenged to a battle of 16 total Mana, I made Giant Roc my first soldier because of its ability to Fly and evade enemy damage, it has a fairly low mana of 5 and melee attack of 2Hits at level 3 which is where my card is at.

Strategy

Kobold Miner took the second position, one of my top favorites, it has a very low mana of 2 and an ability to Sneak, making it attack enemy monsters from the back rather than the front. At level 4, it has 4life and a damage of 2, a typical short man devil!!

Serpentine spy took the following position right behind the kobold miner, with a damage of 2hits and an ability to to Snipe enemy monsters with the lowest life. I envisioned this move being strategic because it will help in taking out the weakest enemy monsters quick, sometimes the weakest are the most lethal, it will be nice to quickly get them out of the way. Serpentine Spy is Such lethal card with such low life, between me and you, I think its a cuuuuuuurse....(whispering in low tone...now read that line again)..

Right behind Serpentine spy was Fire beetle, one of my top favorites as well, I'm sure you can tell why already! With a mana of 3 and an ability to pierce, plus 4 life and ranged damage of 2hits, do I need say more? So I strategically put the Serpentine spine in between two 4 life monsters just for safety. Then ofcourse I made an attempt to cover the behind using Furious Chicken,.....

Lets see if it worked out. Here's the full replay

When I saw that my opponent pulled a healer on me, I was at first scared, because these types of healers just don't die and I was right, it kept on self healing, but thankfully, my other cards with the sneak abilities came in very handy by taking the opponent cards out quickly then focused on facing the healing monster. It was a test of strength and speed at its finest.
Battles like these are where you see the Serpentine Spy shine.
