Ready for more planting? I am!

In today's episode of gardening, we host cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and rocket salad + it's time to add some color, petunias.

How many cherry tomato lovers are there among you? I a d o r e it, maybe even more than the standard one that requires chopping before serving, while cherry tomatoes are one bite.
Mom promised that this year she will take care of the seedlings of "big" tomatoes, and in the meantime I will play with these babies.

What benefits do these little snacks actually contain, lycopene, and it supports your bones, complexion. In addition to lycopene, it is also rich in potassium, with which you should be careful and not consume excessive amounts because it can have a harmful effect on the kidneys, and in moderate amounts it will perfectly regulate your blood pressure.

Seedling containers are ready, disinfected and evenly filled with soil.
Recently, I met a couple who are engaged in the production of tomatoes under the greenhouse, we visited them right at the time of planting, so while we were chatting, I managed to pick up some tricks. Especially for this particular part when seedlings are prepared in containers. Namely, each container should weigh exactly 40 grams (filled with soil).

I didn't blindly follow all those rules because I'm not engaged in professional production, so I won't need the prescribed weight, no matter how, you fill well each container, and then moisten the soil before planting so that it settles nicely.

The seeds should be at a depth of about 3-4 cm, I poked the holes with a twig.

I put a few seeds in each hole, at least 4, just in case. The seeds are so tiny, easily can be lost. Otherwise, this year I bought everything from the seeds, but next year I plan to do the extraction myself (if these turns out well ofc).

Tagged! Over the container comes a small roof, made of nylon, which will protect the seeds from cold mornings, attract more light and heat, and at the same time maintain humidity.

Cucumber, thanks to which we literally eat water, the fruit is even more than 90% water. It comes from the pumpkin family (learned today), in addition to being consumed fresh, it is also ideal as a winter pickled salad, but for that, a variety - gherkin is recommended, better known as an industrial cucumber that requires a lot of pesticide treatment.

The variety I chose is Sunny cucumber, it can also be pickled and consumed fresh. Planting under the greenhouse can be done earlier, and transplanting into the garden is done late in May. The seeds are larger, oblong and pale yellow in color, much more practical to handle than cherry tomatoes.
Two seeds in each container. tucked away, tucked in, marked and ready to grow. Cucumbers are creepers, they love the sun and water, but they despise grass, did you know that cucumber is actually considered a berry and not a vegetable as we treat it? In case of lack of water, the fruits can be bitter, the plant is "under stress", and otherwise the stem and leaves are bitter by themselves, the unpleasant bitterness comes from the part where the cucumber is connected to the stem.
That's why we throw away the ends when making a salad

Rocket salad! Love it, love it, adore it!

This plant is said to heal, rejuvenate and melt away pounds (probably if that's only you consume). It is a good antioxidant, and it is also considered a plant that is excellent in the fight against cancer, it contains a lot of phytochemicals. I introduced it to my diet about 10 years ago, while I was struggling with poly-cystic ovaries, it was perfect for me to play with flavors and combinations, and I very often added it to an omelette.

It contains a certain amount of spiciness, which is noticeable after it is completely chewed, and during thermal processing, that taste is completely lost. It's a little tiring because it can get stuck between your teeth and make you have that beautiful green smile, so be careful if you consume it in company. :D

It's an annual plant, so I didn't want to take up space in the garden, and however I like it the most when it's extremely young and juicy, so in order to keep it close - a pot!

The seeds are so tiny, round and light brown in color, I was afraid that the wind that had started in the meantime would blow them away.

Cherry on the top, petunias for the very end!

I never planted them from seeds, mostly was buying them already grown at the market, which in recent years were mostly infected with flea beetles, and at the same time I infected all the other plants I already had. Haven't bought them since then, as they pissed me off very much, but I love their color combination, especially the petrol blue color with whitish marks so let's give them another chance from the scratch.

Big fans of sun, water and loose soil. Their only requirement is a deeper pot, they tolerate potted limited space very well, but they can also decorate your gardens. There are as many as 35 types (I have no idea which one this is exactly, but I am amazed by the information from google).
They bloom from spring to late autumn, that's the best of all, in order to keep them "fresh", periodically remove the dried flowers so that they don't drain the plant unnecessarily.
Successfully planted and joined with the rest of the potted babies.

Between bursts of rain, the sun finally broke out from behind the clouds, so I took the stroll to the garden to see what was being done there, who was making progress and who was lagging behind.
Unfortunately, some pea seedlings did not manage to cope with the recent frosty mornings, leaving an empty space behind them.
No problem, the new bag of seeds is here to fill the gap, I added two more rows, because peas are never enough, and they do very well in the freezer, the more the merrier!

Last week, spinach was half as much as you can see, little fighters!
Keep growing, mommy loves you and keeps you tidy and free from weeds.

Am I satisfied so far?
You can bet that I am, didn't even want to take a photo of the onion because it is progressing flawlessly, I just cut off the yellow tips that were stung by the frost with scissors and left it to mind its own business.

More bags are waiting in line for planting!
Till then...
