THE GARDENS OF MY LIFE-REMEMBRANCES

I believe that at some point in our lives, we have all had pleasant moments surrounded by nature, in our homes there is always a little corner for plants, whether it is a small space full of pots or a huge garden. The first memories I have are of my maternal grandmother's garden, which are still kept in my heart. Every vacation we used to go to grandma's house, I remember that there, there was a huge garden with a path that connected the corridor with the patio and a little house where we used to cook in a fire place (with firewood). My mother and aunts took care of that place in memory of my grandmother who loved plants and flowers so much. I remember that my grandmother's favorites were the calla lilies, she collected them, my mother told me that she had several colors. Since then it has been more than 40 years that my grandmother is not here, but the garden is still beautiful; every time I go to visit, I love to walk through it.

I inherited the best example of love towards nature from my grandparents and today, I love to plant and take care of my garden, each life that grows in it is like a daughter to me, I know that I am not the only one who talks to the plants and gets sad when one of them gets sick. I make sure that they are always radiant, I think that plants are like having a pet that you have to take care of. An anecdote to tell about my adventures in the garden was that my bee caught a bee on my lip, that caused me a lot of pain and swelling, and my grandfather told me that if I wanted it to go away, I had to apply a slightly unpleasant remedy. It consisted of urinating and placing a bit of that urine on my lip, which at the time caused me revulsion but I did it and indeed a few minutes later the pain and swelling disappeared hahahahaha Grandpa's remedies were super effective.

I believe that if my grandparents were still with us, they would be happy and proud to see us following in their footsteps, living in the countryside is a blessing because the land gives us its fruits to feed us. Personally I have not had good experience in growing fruit plants, in my experience I have only harvested at home parchita, aji dulce and paprika. I usually collect fruit and food scraps and throw them in a pot, from it have germinated several seeds, which I have planted and have borne fruit as was the case of the parchita plant, chili and paprika.
I had the opportunity to make an aerial seedbed with plastic bottles, which I sowed with seeds of eggplant and paprika, I was excited, but when I started to germinate the seeds the ants finished with them, it was frustrating for me because I had won the excitement of seeing each seed planted.

Organic wastes have been a fundamental part in the growth and nourishment of the soil where my plants grow, also applying this technique of composting, has been useful for the use of organic wastes generated at home. In the countryside it is a little easier to find soils suitable for planting ornamental plants and fruit trees than in the city, but it is not impossible because we can help us with these techniques to enrich our soils and the soils of our pots and thus have a beautiful and successful plantings and gardens.
I want to thank the @gardenhive community for this week's challenge, I hope my post is to everyone's liking, I invite you to reblog and join this community, but especially to participate in this week's challenge https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@gardenhive/welcome-to-the-creative-garden-a-new-writing-challenge-in-the-garden-hive which is very interesting, I want to invite @linita to join.
