One thing we have noticed in the places that we've been to recently is that they have a lot of bodies of water (rivers and such). That probably because most are located in lower altitudes so water flows down there.
But yeah, for us who don't see scenery like that often, it is quite fascinating to be encountering several of them. It actually excites us at some point when we pull over to smell, feel and breathe the air around them. Although there are places where the scent of the water and the surrounding areas are a bit musty especially when the sun is high up and the temperature's hot. Or in some where there is quarrying, the water is looking muddy and dirty.
There were areas where people diverted some of the water and created ponds along the sides of the river which is quite understandable because the livelihood of most people in those places are rice farming (seasonal) and fishery. And yes, tourism in some areas.
While en-route to Quirino, we came across some kids having fun in the shallow waters along one of the bridges and we couldn't help but feel envious for they have free and boundless swimming facilities, lol!
It's amazing to see when rivers are taken care of by the community where they are located and the waters are kept pristine - fresh, clean, no trash floating. It shows that they know how to appreciate the wealth before them. Just like what Ghandi said on the above quote, nature is on loan from our kids and for them to enjoy the same in their days, we in the current generation must at least do our part to not spoil these for them.
These by the way were photographed at different days in various places around the Ilocos region (Cervantes and Quirino) and in Mountain Province (Bontoc) as well. Thought it is good to keep a record of some of them here on the blockchain, thanks to Liketu for bringing an instagram-like application here on Hive which I've come to love and enjoy.
That's all for now and Happy Hump Day!
