This past weekend we had great weather and I realized we would be able to get some great views from higher points to look out over the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
Looking for some of the higher points with great views points, Monteseel immediately comes up in my mind.
So, we set out to Monteseel and decided to take a new route through Monteseel which we haven't taken before. This led to some interesting discoveries which get more meaning when I can refer back to some photos that I have shared in a previous post too.
Let's get to the point. As we entered Monteseel we went out to the opposite side of where we normally go and we found some awesome views to enjoy.
As we turned up where I expected to get some new views, we were left speechless.
The first photo gives you a nice wide-angle view of the view over the valley.
In the next photo, I just turned a little more to the left and just loved how the shadow of the cloud was covering this rock formation and the ground just above it.
For the next photo, I turned back to the extreme right again, to capture a portion of the route we were following, becoming visible to the right.
As we moved along the route, we moved around on the outer side as if following the form of a horse-shoe.
As we started moving back after completing the outer curve, we started moving in amongst some houses.
As we looked to the left, I recognized this water tower right above a beautiful rock formation, as you can see in the next photo.
With our previous visit, we stopped at this specific water tower and I took this photo (obviously on a more cloudy day) which I have also shared in a previous post.
I also happened to take this next photo on that cloudy day, which is a photo of the exact houses where we were standing now, to take the photo of the tower from a distance.
So, this photo actually shows the area where I stood this time, to take the photo before the last one. I was standing just to the right (as seen in the photo) of the big tree in the center of the photo.
The next photo was also taken on our previous outing, also standing right in front of the tower. This photo was just more to the right.
Today, we were moving around the top of the hill that you can see to the left of this photo.
Also during our previous trip, we moved from the tower to this point at this tree.
The next photo is a close-up of the tree.
It was from that tree, that I also took this photo.
On today's outing, that tree is also visible in the next photo on the rock formation to the left, with what looks like a "little" tree on top of it...lol.
And that was our outing to Monteseel this weekend, getting some nice flash-backs of our previous visit too...lol.
That's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
