On my recent trip ✈️ to the New England region, to check out the fall colours 🍁🍁🍂🍂
I went on some hikes in the mountains and forests 🌳 🌲🌳🌲🌳of course 😊 how can I not.
So… today I want to share with you what I saw on one of the hikes. We start with OLD SPECK MOUNTAIN around THE MOUSE CAVE in NEWRY ~ the State of #MAINE #USA 🇺🇸 🍄

The following 12 photos are taken with my phone 😎 on 10 October 2023
I couldn’t get the photos of my Canon 📸 yet, as the card reader is somewhere in one of the 40 (still packed) boxes 📦 hahaha 🤣 luckily I did take some photos with my phone too. (We don’t have the space to unpack further in this rental house 🏡)
Let’s have a look at what I saw and can share with you :
While wandering in the forest up a trail I suddenly was stopped in my tracks by this group of awesome mushrooms in such a beautiful orange colour 🧡🧡
They were located around a tree stump 🌳🌲
I have never seen such a vibrant orange colour before…
As you can see most of the mushroom heads are already eaten by the forest creatures 😉
Close by… look at the cute tiny ones 🧡
Such a beautiful surprise it was to find these 🍄
One last capture… 😊
And of we go… further on our trail through the forest.
On a tree next to me I notice a few more mushrooms. Getting closer by…
I find below the tree many more hidden in the leaves 🍂🍂🍂🍂 can you see them?
I take a few captures of some clusters… cuddling together.
And these ones hidden with leaves but I found them anyway 😉
As we walk further and almost reach the end of our hike… I see this fungi right in the middle of a cut made on this tree.
