Before Dark Comes

Watching the light be accompanied by darkness, not yet completely dark, it was a beautiful, calming sight.

What's more amazing than the aroma of coffee with a bitter taste that many people like? It was a view of the sky before dark. At least, that's my version of the amazing thing. That's why I love golden hours, especially when the sun sets before it gets completely dark.

Before darkness comes, that's the best time I like for a coffee shop to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Also, the effects of caffeine can have a positive influence on my work in the creative field.

I feel quite happy discussing the topic of The Coffee Shop Prompt (TCSP) this week. About my favorite time to visit a coffee shop. Now, I'm more likely to have a different time than I was a few months ago.

WHY IS IT TIME BEFORE DARK?

Apart from the more beautiful view before dark, there is another main reason I like visiting a coffee shop at that time. I am about to avoid negatives for the quality of my sleep.

Currently, my husband and I are focused on improving sleep quality for a better lifestyle. Honestly, even before I got married, I had poor sleep quality. I tend to often travel to write my book. From the messy quality of my sleep, I started to feel negative effects on my life, the biggest being mood swings, and that really disrupted my daily productivity.

I admit, I used to drink coffee at night after dinner. So, that's very bad for me. Now, instead of avoiding and hating coffee altogether, I can control myself better.

If I really want coffee, I will drink coffee before dark comes. The bonus is, that I can see the beauty when the sunset comes.

From the side of the glass, I can see the situation outside. Gradually it will get dark. It was a beautiful sight. It's as if the sun has gone and left something beautiful to remember.

NOTHING IS COMPLETELY BITTER

Sitting in the corner of the window, I enjoyed the atmosphere with the menus that looked bitter. But, I think those things are not completely bitter. It's better to get used to the bitter taste, so that the sweet taste will look special compared to being used to sweet so that the sweet taste is no longer special.

I ordered an espresso brownie with americano with brown sugar foam. Both feel like good choices for me who is now used to less sugar things.

Indeed, life is about habits. What we want, we have to start from small things and then get used to doing it consistently. Grateful, I'm used to the bitter taste. In fact, when I taste food or drinks that are too sweet, those things actually taste strange on my tongue.

Espresso by Starbucks in my city seems to have a dominant bitter taste but also has a slightly sweet taste. Like a splash that diverts the bitter taste. It's just that the texture is not like a fudge or moist cake. But this one is more similar to a cake bar which has a dense texture but is still delicious to enjoy as a snack during coffee time.

Iced Americano with brown sugar foam. It sounded like a new menu for me because I had never drunk a similar type of iced coffee. I asked the barista if the foam tasted sweet, then he said it wasn't that sweet.

Sure enough, brown sugar foam is not sweet. I'm just wondering why you have to add brown sugar foam. Ah, maybe just for a marketing thing, like I was actually interested in trying this menu just because I was curious about the menu.

Not bad, just nice. It's just that, if I could choose, I would only choose Iced Americano in general. Brown sugar foam is seen only as a sweetener or to provide visual beauty but not for taste. So, if you hope that brown sugar foam can provide something different, that expectation will only be disappointed.

Overall, I liked my visit that time. I went home before dinner. Then I took the time to photograph the conditions inside the Starbucks which looked dimly lit.

Bitter things are never completely bitter. It's just a lesson to manage our lives for the better. And, never regret what happened instead of taking lessons from there.
