Hello friends. I'm glad that I have the privilege to participate in week 85 and edition 1 prompt. When I saw the topic I felt like not participating at all, because I have been too blessed by this hive Blockchain. Since the very month I was onboarded I have learnt alot of things that I never had the opportunity of learning it from somewhere else. But nevertheless, I have an experience that really hurt me alot few months after I started hiving and I was almost thrown out of the Blockchain. Thank God for the people who kept encouraging until I overcame all the challenges and I am standing in the Blockchain today.
I want to specialy thank the hive learners community for bringing up the newbies initiative because it has helped allot of people. When I first saw it i said to myself this is what should have helped me when I was onboarded. But it was so unfortunat that i did not have that opportunity. I remember mentioning it in the hive learners community hangout.
WHAT I WISHED TO SEE IN HIVE BLOCKCHAIN
Starting from what happened to me at the beginning of my hive journey. I had problem of plagiarism. I was giving a punishment by the watchers. I tried to make them understand that I don't even know how things are done here because I just started hiving. All my explanation was never accepted. I had to serve the punishments. I started noticing others who also fail victims but could not stand the punishment and ran away from the Blockchain. We have no one to listen to us when we have problems. Our fate is just decided by people who don't care how you feel.
I wish so much that the Blockchain will have something that will help it to know when someone committed a mistake unknowingly from when someone knows that something is wrong and still went on to do it. The Bible says that he that committed a crime without knowing it will receive little punishment, but he that knows the right thing to do and did not do it will receive even more punishment because he was sopposed to know the right thing to do. I believe that people who have stayed for a long time in the Blockchain will know how things are done. But new people may not know much and as a result, the may end up breaking some rules here.
I know of some children that refused to go to school because of how the teacher tries to correct them. Yes, they may be lazy students. Dirty students and all of that. But when a teacher who is meant to help them out of that situation has positioned himself in such a way that the students becomes afraid of him. Yes I know that correcting someone when he or she goes wrong is very good and also important. But when we do it in such a way that the person being corrected can't stand up again, then this is not correction. We correct with love to make the person better. But if after correcting someone, the person ends up having more injury than before, then we have not achieved the purpose of the correction.
I have watched some individuals who ended up living the Blockchain because of the manner in which they were corrected. Sometimes it seems as if we have another motive of corrections. I believe that the only motive should be to make that person realize his or her mistake and never go back to do it again.
Please 🙏 let the drive be for correcting hivers generally expecially newbies. Hivers should also be given the opportunity to explain whenever they go wrong. Of cause when anyone trespasses the line then they have the right to punish the person.
We have a saying that says- to er is human and to forgive is divine. No matter what we do, we must see people who do something that is not expected of them. Some do it purposely, while some do it ignorantly. Are we supposed to treat them the same? The answer is no.
In my own view, I think that hive Blockchain should temper justice with mercy when dealing with newbies. If the person have stayed for a long time in the Blockchain and breaks a law, then let that person receive the punishments meant for that offence.
