Improving Hive: My Wishlist for a Better User Experience

I say it all the time to my friends, and I’ll say it again, Hive is a godsend to humanity.

I was part of a team for a writing debate this past weekend; the debate topic was “Writing for passion trumps writing for profit”. I was on the proposing side. During the course of the debate, someone made a point by saying that you need to write for a long time before you see any profit.

Now I absolutely understand the line of reasoning. I mean, your work has to be good, and you can only get good by putting time and effort into it. But with that remark, it was evident that the speaker in question had not heard of Hive before.

Hive is welcoming to both writers and non-writers, at every stage of their journey into the craft. Some people even discover their passion for writing while finding their way through Hive. It is crazy the number of testimonies that this amazing platform has created, both said and unsaid.

Personally, I didn’t know anything about writing before I joined Hive. It is safe to say I was clueless when I first started out, but because of the community of fellow writers, I was moved to do research and find ways to become better. I can say that, judging from when I first joined, my writing has improved to some extent.

My point is that Hive is unlike any other platform; it gives you the opportunity to improve while also rewarding you for your efforts. I mean, that’s unheard of.

And while it is all of these things and more, we can’t deny the fact that Hive, like every other project under the sun, is not a hundred percent perfect. The developers continuously look for ways to improve and renovate the platform. They also fix issues that come up every once in a while. They are the reasons that Hive is up and running for us, the users, and enough thanks cannot be given.

There are some little things I would love to see happen on Hive, and they are as follows;

  1. Ecency Mobile App: Ecency is my go to front end, and more often than not, I use the website version on my PC. But sometimes, for the sake of convenience, I rely on the mobile app. I’ve noticed that it’s not as fast as the web version. It takes some time to load a page. If that can be looked into, then I’m sure Ecency would operate like the developers intend for it to.

  2. Inleo Spaces: Leofinance has evolved so beautifully and efficiently over the past year that I’ve been a part of Hive. And it has been an amazing privilege to watch it bloom into the monument that it is today. The new Inleo renovation is simply magnificent. Using the front end makes me incredibly stoked.

However, I do think that if spaces were to be incorporated into the platform, it would increase the number of users. With every other feature that it boasts, spaces will be just another amazing addition to the family. I would be excited to see that happen!

There really isn’t that much to fix or add; Hive is already spectacular as is. And I cannot wait to see more innovations implemented.

This is my participation in the Hive Learners first topic for the week.
