ANCIENT

The ancient Greeks enjoyed chewing the resin of the mastic tree.

Between 14th and 16th century, the Mesoamerican or Aztec people chewed [tzictle] or Chicle. The native Americans of New England taught colonists to chew the resin of the spruce tree. In the early 19th century Spruce resin came to be the first commercial chewing gum i USA.

MODERN

It is said that the modern chewing gum started in the USA back in the 19th century.
During the then president of Mexico SANTA ANNA'S exile in the United States he was seen chewing pieces of Chicle that he had brought from Mexico. Realizing the potentials, an American inventor imported the Chicle from Mexico into America in order to make chewing gum.

PRODUCTION

Chewing gum tree as Sapodilla is called, is native to the tropical rain forest of northern Belize, Guatemala and Youcatàn pennisula of Mexico. In some areas over 175 Sapodilla trees can be found in one hectare of land.

Those that gather Chicles especially in the rainy season are called Chileros
They make zig zag cuts on Sapodilla tree trunk, these cuts allow the latex to run slowly into a receptacle. It is then collected, boiled and molded into blocks to be sold.
In the 1940's in the United States the Chicles was replaced by synthetic products.

CONCLUSION

Some people use chewing gum to freshen thir breath especially where brushing is not possible after meals or snack. Others use chewing gum to reduce tension and also to be alert. Some divers prefer chewing gum to caffee to stay awake. People who are trying to quit smoking may find chewing gum helpful. It can also satisfy your desire for snack as it cotains less calories.

Many people are also irritated by others chewing gums ti their hearing. You will want to use discretion.

Gums should not be swallowed as it can cause intestinal track and esophageal obstruction. Also excessive gum chewing can cause high level of Mercury to be released from dental amalgam.

  • My favorite day of the week I hope to stake alive tokens.

THURSDAY

  • Complete my Larry is alive task.

FRIDAY

  • Do aliveandthriving curation.

SATURDAY

  • Do laundry and cleaning, after that I'll do weekend curation.

SUNDAY

  • After our meeting, I'll perform more weekend curation.
