This continues remembering Sukkot with the family. The first day of the festival is on Sabbath. After the sun went down, we visited the community tent and acquainted ourselves with our fellow-campers.
Everyone was happy to begin the week-long celebration and the Sabbath!
It was a pleasant start to the festival. Many smiles and hugs and warm greetings. Afterwards, we returned to our tent to sleep until the rising of the sun.
The next morning we enjoyed some pre-made breakfast items, home-made English muffins and pre-cooked beef sausage. YUM! We forgot to bring coffee grounds, so it was an excuse to visit with neighbors for coffee.
I didn't find coffee, but what i did find was better: worship! My fellow campers had some musical skill and were praising Yah with all their might this beautiful Sabbath morning. It was a blessing to participate singing and praising!
Michigan is not known for it's hills or mountains, but this area has some nice landscape, with gentle rolling hills. It's very green and lush, beautiful place.
The whole camp gathered in the clubhouse for worship in the afternoon and it was an amazing experience.
Children made drawings while the adults engaged in Torah study. It was a long and in-depth teaching that went on all the way to diner time. Pot luck in the big tent!
It was the end of a fantastic day, and to think there is still an entire week to go!
