A Walk Along the River · 14 pics

Today I would like to share pictures from a long-ago walk by the river called Yuryuzan. In general, the Southern Ural is a land of countless lakes and rivers. At least three thousand rivers in my region are more than ten kilometers long, and the largest rivers are more than two hundred kilometers long. The Yuryuzan river is one of the calmest rivers, on the banks of which you can always find beautiful places to relax.

I found myself in one of these places in July 2009. The walk along the river bank took me about an hour. It was a beautiful summer day.

The rock above the river is the main attraction of this place, although such rock formations on the banks of the Ural rivers are not uncommon. If you look closely at the photos, you can see people at the foot of the rock.

On the opposite shore I noticed a small tourist camp. People raft on the river, find a place to camp and stay in this place for a couple of days. It's a common situation.

The people on the raft.

The rocky riverbank I walked along. You can see my car over there.

Swamp near the rock.

Suddenly, among the trees and bushes, I found a place to rest.

I also saw this information sign there. Inscription: Border Service of the FSB of Russia. Of course, this is a joke, although there is some truth in this — in these places, along the Yuryuzan river, the border between the two Russian regions runs.

Then I saw a man on a horse cart, went in his direction, and suddenly found myself in a green forest.

The forest was beautiful.

I picked a couple of strawberries and ate them. This was the end of my walk. I didn't take any more photos. I don't remember getting back to the car and driving home. Apparently, these were some special berries.

Thank you for stopping by and reading this! ;)
