It was our last morning in Rome, and we are now on the train to Florence. We had just enough time to get out for a quick walk around town to see a few more sights before we had to head for the train.

Above is the Trevi Fountain with the morning sunshine falling across it. It was nice to get there early and miss some of the crowds - although there was still easily 200+ people there !

I dont even know what the building above is, but this pic is taken from inside a courtyard that we found on the way to McDonalds for breakfast !

From McD's, we made our way toward the Pantheon and passed this old church above from the 15th Century.

And also this beautiful church above. There literally is a beautiful and grand church on every street corner in Rome, it is quite impressive.

When we got to the Pantheon it was really quiet, which was great as we had been trying to get in all week, and it was too busy, with very long queues.

And the morning sunshine was also falling nicely across the square outside the Pantheon - again quite quiet compared to how busy it had been all week.

I'd really been wanting to show my daughter the inside of the Pantheon all week as its just stunning - so we were very happy to get in. It was originally a pagan temple, but was converted into a church quite a long time ago. Its vast inside and the marble is just beautiful.

But its the dome that I love. Its the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world ! And what I love is that the centre is open to the elements. When it rains outside, it rains inside !!! I took quite a lot of pictures inside and will post more about the Pantheon later, as its such an incredible building.

From the Pantheon we made our way to the Trevi Fountain, stopping at the Tempe of Hadrian on the way (above). The old facade has been retained and incorporated into a modern building. There was something going on there as there were a lot of police and men in suits around !

And it was great to get another look at the Trevi Fountain before leaving Rome. Its just spectacular.

From the fountain were worked our way back to the hotel. Passing the 'wedding cake' on Capitoline Hill.

And of course we passed an Irish Pub (above) !!! There is always atleast one !

I really liked the religious symbol on the building above. Its a mosaic. You can see such things all over the city - really pretty.

One more fine church, with a couple of city bikes outside. You can rent these city bikes along with e-scooters and they are all over Rome. But have you seen the traffic in Rome - there is no chance I'd even attempt driving a bulldozer in Rome, never mind a bike !

And lastly was the Roman ruins in the torre della Argentina above, just beside our hotel. This is actually where Julius Cesar was assassinated in 44 BC !!!
Well, we enjoyed our last morning in Rome, and are now looking forward to Florence - the train gets in, in under an hour. All the best from Italy !!!!
