This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
The time is coming for my wife's driver's license renewal. The weekend before last, we went to one of the offices of the traffic authorities to get the process started. That also brought us close to the area of Ansteys Beach.
We haven't been to Ansteys Beach for quite some time, so we thought this would be a good opportunity.
Ansteys Beach is situated in The Bluff, a suburb about 15 km south of Durban.
This area is very popular in the surfing community and also among backpackers. Some really nice and affordable holiday accommodation can be found in this area.
Just above the beach is a nice fun area with pools where the kids can have fun in the water.

It was a cool day and completely overcast.
Approaching the fun park with the ocean in the background.

There wasn't much going on and with the rhythmic beating of the waves in the background, it created a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

Moving toward the beach and looking up north, there were a few fishermen visible...all doing their own thing.

Looking more south, the sea was calm, and if you see any dots in the water, there were surfers in the water.

Let's zoom in a bit so that you can see them...

One caught a tiny little wave...

Then these three guys caught a better wave...

This guy was on his way for a nice ride...

It's worth mentioning here, I still have a lot to learn about photography! On this day with the weather conditions we faced, I battled a bit with the amount of light in the photos.
Mainly when I was just focusing on the surfers, only seeing the dark color of the water under the dark sky, it almost appeared as if my photos were black and white.
In the next photo, you will see what I mean...as I included the beach with some color in the foreground.
To my right, a lifeguard was keeping a watchful eye over the surfers.
He had his equipment placed on the beach just below us. In this photo, you can see I managed to get more light again and also the colors on the beach are showing nicely.

Same with the next two photos...

After spending some time on the beach, we returned to the promenade and before leaving we decided to have something to drink at the kiosk, The Beach House Cafe, just below the fun area mentioned at the beginning of my post.

We preferred spending our time at The Beach House Cafe. That meant we could relax and enjoy being right on the beach while having something to drink.
But, across the road, you can also find Noah's Pub & Grill, which is located in Ansteys Square.

We then went back to the car and left to visit some other venues we also had planned for the day.
So, that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
