We've spent quite some time in Wilson's Wharf lately as there is such a variety of boats to see.
It also has a very pleasant atmosphere which makes it quite enjoyable to just walk around and sometimes we would just find a spot and watch some of the boats coming and going.
With today's post of my #wednesdaywalk, I have something specific in mind, as one of my neighbors is in the process of buying a yacht.
We have only moved into the house we are living in now just a little less than a year ago. But I seemed to have hit it off nicely with this guy. He is a very friendly person and whenever we see each other outside it normally ends up in a conversation.
His plan is to resign from his full-time job by the end of April and by the end of May he wants to be on his yacht with his family.
They want to travel the world, while capturing all their adventures on video and posting it to their Youtube chanel.
I did mention to him about 3Speak as well and he seems super keen and interested.
The yacht is currently in Hout Bay, which is on the West Coast, close to Cape Town.
Depending on when he is physically taking ownership of the vessel, as they are currently busy with minor modifications and maintenance work, he might sail it up to Durban and dock the boat in Durban harbor until they head out on their journey.
If that happens, I might be lucky to go and see the boat before they head out...and maybe get some photos.
But for now, I took some photos of some nice sail boats in Wilson's Wharf, Durban Harbor.
Such as this one...
And a little further down were the "Panther" and the "Ylang".
A bit more focus on the "Panther".
There is definitely no shortage of yachts being docked in Wilson's Wharf, as can be seen in the next two photos...
If the boat is ready and Donald (my neighbor) can take ownership before the end of April, he might keep it here in Durban until his resignation at the end of April, which will allow him to do some finishing touches to get everything ready.
If he takes ownership after the end of April the boat will be taken to Richards Bay harbor, as they own a farm closer to Richards Bay, and it would then be easier to do the final preparation from there before they leave.
So, let's hope the boat can be docked in Durban for a couple of days... Who knows, I might be able to get a photo or two...
And that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post.
I do appreciate it.
