Wednesday walk - Sighting Garden lizards

I haven't been taking my camera with me lately when I go out for walks, not because I don't want to, but because its getting very difficult for me to walk around with that bag hanging heavily on my shoulders. I just haven't been feeling up to it. So today I will share with you the various shots of garden lizards I have taken during my walks in various parks while I tell you about the things I miss on my walks these days. Look at this guy, I found him in a rocky part of the park. We stared at each other for a while both stunned and froze I guess at each others presence there. I recovered first and got a shot of him before he thawed and ran for his life!

These are the things I miss these days, the heat has ensured that there are no flowers around and the water scarcity doesn't help either. Oh yes we still have water scarcity, but as I write this I hear the roaring thunder, hope it will rain tonight.

Hiding behind the tall grass was this guy, I couldn't get a decent photograph of him, we were both cashing each other from either side of the grass divider. I don't think I've even chased a guy like I chased this one in all my life. Finally at one spot I saw his eye and I decided to go for it. Here you go I gouged his eye for you, oh no I mean I got it for you. Do you like it? Let me tell you that this guy looked stunning, I wish I had got a decent photograph of him.

This one came out of a hole in the wall, I think I took this picture while walking in another park where the lake was still being cleaned up and developed. I guess a lot of these creatures were disturbed in the process. This one looked like a snake with legs.

A wider shot showing you where he came from, these creatures seem to like rocky ledges. This one is much more smoother as far as the skin is concerned, the scales are smooth unlike the normal garden lizards we see here.

This is a smaller version of the one hiding in the tall grass, I don't know if he was brownish in color or if he was dirty from crawling through all the mud around this place. Nonetheless my walks are never walks when I see these guys, its a chase, a run and at times a sprint. If you are the winner you get the prize catch. You guessed right, I often miss the prized catches, especially a beautiful yellow one. My body is slowing down even if I deny it.

Okay I give up, I don't have a clue what this creature is, I thought it was a dragon fly when I took a shot of it, but what I saw later told me I was staring at a creature I had never seen before. Regardless this shot I thought was worth the share.

Sometimes when you chase guys like these around you tend to come face to face with pretty flowers like these that grow wild. Wild but pretty! These have all dried up now in the harsh sun. The rainless skies look down without mercy.

Walking through mazes like these may not sound fun but they have their bright sides too. It's here we meet these creature you just saw, strange but beautiful in their own sort of way. The hubs and I enjoy these long walks as they takes us far from all the madness that lies behind in the city.

In one of the neglected parts of the parks we found this spot. It's not often we come across sights like these, these little bridges are relics of the past and have been done away with in the name of development. Pretty bridges likes these used to be a normal thing when I was a kid, not anymore, the next time we went looking for this little bridge, we found a cacti garden in this place. Gone was this special place we discovered.

A wider shot of the bridge, overgrown with weeds and bougainvillea which are very common here. I love the moss covered bridge, naturally decorated with wild growth.

Thanks for hanging out with me patiently. I hope the garden lizards didn't make you nauseous or anything. Have a great hump day, get out and go for a walk as @tattoodjay says and post about your walk here.
