Welcome back to another very red drawing from me. I swear, red isn't my favourite color but I have no idea why so much glossy stuff looks so sexy and juicy in red!
And speaking of juicy, I tried to recreate the famous strawberry bite lips photo that's been one of the most popular artist reference ever but since I've been running here and there across the lab, I didn't have much time to just sit and stare at the reference material. I mostly worked out what i could remember from the few stolen glances I had while in the midst of working 🥲
Materials: acrylic paint pen, red pen, brown pen, black pen, white gel pen
Duration: 2.5 hours
So today I learned that my pen and the acrylic pen marker I found somewhere had the same shade so I decided to use the acrylic paint to color in the base. And I have to admit, I was a little nervous at first that it would be hard to shade or even draw on, but this just proved how versatile acrylic paint is... and now I'm considering buying more colors of these when I have the extra for it 💕 because I love that pigmentation, what i don't like was how rough the finish was so I had to smoothen that out a bit with my red pen. lucky they're really the same shade, otherwise I would have been forced to find a way to blend 2 different reds together just to clean up the edges
this is how it started. I felt like my sketch layer completely disappeared after this acrylic layer so that's another lesson learned, sketch on top of acrylics, not under them because goodbye sketch.
Luckily I didn't have a hard time redoing the sketch because I could still faintly see the pitlines of the pencil because of my ultra thick glasses 🤣
This is where working woth brown straight away took me. It had a little bit of shaping already and i just used the red pen to blend it all together and give it a bit more glossing too because the red pen i have has a bit of gloss to it that kind of adds to the overall glossy effect I was going for. All in all, I think the brown rreally popped out when I added in my black layer then highlights because it gave the drawing a more 3d look
And i feel a little out of it because I had to overtime a little more than usual to get a few sample reports out 🤣 Hope you guys understand
That's all I can bear to write today! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you guys have a great day!
