Today, I finally gathered the courage to create my first NSFW artwork. For this design, I was inspired to choose Medusa from Greek mythology and came up with a unique look to complement an aesthetic design that depicts the wound on her head, connecting us to her story of the battle with Perseus. Para este diseño, me inspiré en elegir a Medusa de la mitología griega y propuse una mirada única para acompañar un diseño estético que muestra su corte en la cabeza, relacionándonos así con su historia de la batalla contra Perseo. For the first part of the design, I chose to rotate the background details and placed fallen warriors under her gaze, aiming to bring us closer to the stories told in mythology. Afterward, I positioned the model of Medusa facing forward to draw the viewer's gaze toward her.
Para la primera parte del diseño, decidí girar los detalles del fondo y añadir guerreros que han caído bajo su mirada, todo esto con el propósito de acercarnos a las historias narradas en la mitología. Luego, coloqué el modelo de Medusa de frente para atraer la atención hacia ella
For the part of her chest I managed to give a perspective to stickers and place them on her nipples, I played with the fusion options and played black to give more depth to the design of that area. The look being jellyfish didn't have to be left behind and I proceeded to give it a glow in her vision.
Para la parte de su pecho logré dar una perspectiva a stickers y colocárselos en sus pezones, jugué con las opciones de fusión y juegue color negro para darle más profundidad al diseño de esa zona. La mirada siendo medusa no tenía que quedarse atrás y procedí a darle un resplandor en su visión.
CONFLIC // CONFLICTO
I wanted to try and stylize Medusa with a wash of colors, but my dissatisfaction with the color choices and the notion that it had to "be like a statue" led me to waste time deciding on the gradient map. At the end of the journey, I want to demonstrate that not everything is perfect, and that these conflicts are normal and happen to all of us when creating a piece.
Quería intentar estilizar a Medusa con un baño de colores, pero mi insatisfacción con las elecciones cromáticas y la idea de que debía "ser una estatua" me hizo perder tiempo decidiendo qué mapa de degradado utilizar. Al final del día, quiero mostrarles que no todo es perfecto y que estos conflictos son normales y les ocurren a todos cuando están creando una obra
The addition of letters and details, as well as the beginning of the torn paper part, were crucial elements in the design. I managed to cut the top part to create a kind of tears for Medusa and introduce her respective title.
El agregado de letras y detalles, así como el inicio de la parte del papel rasgado, fueron elementos cruciales en el diseño. Logré cortar la parte superior para crear una especie de lágrimas para Medusa e introducir su respectivo título.
Changing the design to include a skull and considering placing it at the top, on a frame with a clipping mask, accompanied by a texture, seemed like a great idea to me. I liked the design, and I went ahead to change the background, moving all those letters to the center to achieve an overlay and get a better result
Cambiar el diseño para incluir una calavera y pensar en ubicarla en la parte superior, sobre un marco con máscara de recorte y acompañada de una textura, me pareció una gran idea. Me gustó el diseño y procedí a cambiar el fondo, trasladando todas esas letras al centro para lograr una superposición y obtener un mejor resultado.
Accompanied by a phrase and assets that would enhance the cover's vision, all that remained was to finalize the details of the stickers typically placed on an album. To determine the CD's last detail, I came up with the idea of giving it a cut that symbolizes the loss of her head to Perseus. With this, I was content with the added textures and colors. Acompañada de una frase y elementos que mejorarían la visión de la portada, solo quedaba finalizar los detalles de los stickers que normalmente se colocan en un álbum. Para determinar el último detalle del CD, se me ocurrió darle un corte que simbolizara la pérdida de su cabeza ante Perseo. Así, quedé satisfecho con las texturas añadidas y los colores.
