I like this, I was looking for other stories to know what "superintendent" meant, and I enjoyed reading yours. You managed to make the workplace of the story sound like a terrible place to be at. Haha.
Maybe he didn't show his true colors, maybe something personal happened to him that changed him. Reality can hit people so hard, they change.
I know the meaning now, so I'll write my own entry shortly.
