Nos vamos a Gravedona! / We are going to Gravedona!

Sigo con mi aventura en la Lombardía y esta vez nos acercamos a Gravedona una población vecina de Dubino "Nueva Olonio" donde comenzó esta hermosa experiencia. Esta es una pequeña ciudad situada en la provincia de Como. Aproximadamente unos 2700 habitantes conviven en esa zona en una extensión de 6,2 km². La ciudad cuenta con un pequeño puerto en el Lago di Como que comparten un montón de ciudades más.

I continue with my adventure in Lombardy and this time we approached Gravedona a neighboring town of Dubino "New Olonio" where this beautiful experience began. This is a small town located in the province of Como. Approximately about 2700 inhabitants live in that area in an extension of 6.2 km². The city has a small harbor on Lago di Como which is shared by a lot of other cities.

El Lago di Como es el mayor atractivo turístico de Gravedona. Allí los visitantes pueden disfrutar de paseos en barco, deportes acuáticos, y hermosas vistas panorámicas del lago y las montañas circundantes. La ciudad parece de cuento y la vegetación y los vivos colores del entorno crean un efecto muy agradable.

Lago di Como is Gravedona's main tourist attraction. There visitors can enjoy boat rides, water sports, and beautiful panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The town looks like a fairytale and the vegetation and vivid colors of the surroundings create a very pleasant effect.

Dos cosas me sorprendieron gratamente en este lugar. La primera fue la hermosa Iglesia de Santa María del Tiglio. Es un impresionante monumento de estilo románico y data del siglo XII, y uno de los más importantes de Gravedona. Se encuentra en el centro histórico de la ciudad y cuenta con hermosos frescos y un campanario octogonal.

Two things pleasantly surprised me in this place. The first was the beautiful Church of Santa Maria del Tiglio. It is an impressive monument in Romanesque style and dates back to the 12th century, and one of the most important in Gravedona. It is located in the historic center of the city and features beautiful frescoes and an octagonal bell tower.

Entrar en esta iglesia de la edad media me impresionó mucho. Está llena de frescos antiguos en las paredes, o lo que queda de ellos. Se nota que han hecho trabajos de excavación y se observa en capas más profundas, un suelo de mosaicos realmente hermoso. Diversas etapas han pasado por esa edificación tan sorprendente. No había nadie que pudiera contarme la historia. Solo hice fotografías y pedí que me hicieran una a mí al lado de la gran campana.

Entering this church from the middle ages impressed me a lot. It is full of ancient frescoes on the walls, or what is left of them. You can tell that they have done excavation work and you can see in deeper layers, a really beautiful mosaic floor. Several stages have passed through this amazing building. There was no one who could tell me the story. I just took pictures and asked them to take one of me next to the big bell.

La pila bautismal, los frescos y un hermoso crucifico tallado en madera eran algunos de los detalles que pude fotografiar dentro de la iglesia.

The baptismal font, the frescoes and a beautiful wood carved crucifix were some of the details I was able to photograph inside the church.

La inmensidad de lo que representa este monumento histórico a orillas del lago, en el tiempo, tiene un valor incalculable en cuanto es nuestra herencia del pasado.

The immensity of what this historic monument on the shores of the lake represents in time is of incalculable value as it is our heritage from the past.

A pesar del paso del tiempo, la historia queda impregnada en las raíces de la iglesia. Así lo demuestra el descubrimiento bajo el piso de mármol de un artístico suelo de mosaicos que nos cuenta una etapa previa.

Despite the passage of time, history remains impregnated in the roots of the church. This is demonstrated by the discovery under the marble floor of an artistic mosaic floor that tells of a previous stage.

La otra sorpresa fue darme cuenta de la fuerza de la naturaleza que decidió pintar el cielo de gris y regalarnos una lluvia fresca para no olvidar jamás tan hermoso lugar.
Y es que cuando conozco un espacio nuevo para mí, me fijo en todos los detalles, no solo en lo que ya ha sido manipulado por el hombre, también forma parte de mi memoria viajera el entorno natural y los fenómenos meteorológicos que surgen en determinados momentos.

Lejos de molestarme, lo disfruté guareciéndome en una heladería donde pude degustar un rico gelato italiano.

The other surprise was to realize the force of nature that decided to paint the sky gray and give us a fresh rain to never forget such a beautiful place.
When I get to know a new place for me, I pay attention to all the details, not only to what has already been manipulated by man, but also to the natural environment and the meteorological phenomena that arise at certain times.

Far from bothering me, I enjoyed it by taking refuge in an ice cream parlor where I could taste a delicious Italian gelato.

Entre Dubino y Gravedona, bordeando el lago di Como, llegamos a Gera Lario a conocer su emblemático faro construido en 1957 como recuerdo a la trágica inundación que ocurrió en 1951, arrasando todo el pueblo. Actualmente, es un punto de referencia para la navegación en el lago.

Between Dubino and Gravedona, bordering Lake Como, we arrive at Gera Lario to visit its emblematic lighthouse built in 1957 as a reminder of the tragic flood that occurred in 1951, devastating the entire village. Today, it is a reference point for navigation on the lake.

Después de contemplar el paisaje húmedo y melancólico que nos dejó la lluvia, regresamos a casa para reponer energías, pues el siguiente día prometía nuevas emociones y paisajes dignos de los lienzos de tantos artistas formados en estas hermosas tierras.

After contemplating the wet and melancholic landscape left by the rain, we returned home to recharge our batteries, because the next day promised new emotions and landscapes worthy of the canvases of so many artists trained in these beautiful lands.
