Hey guys and good morning from Mexico City! Today I would like to introduce you to a new place that I visited here in the Mexican capital. I’m talking about one of the oldest and also most famous skyscrapers in the city. Built in 1956, the Torre Latinoamericana was the first and for a long time the tallest high-rise building on Latin American ground.
Hallo Leute und Guten Morgen aus Mexico City! Heute möchte ich euch einen neuen Ort vorstellen, den ich hier in der mexikanischen Hauptstadt besucht habe. Es handelt sich um einen der ältesten und auch berühmtesten Wolkenkratzer der Stadt. Der 1956 erbaute Torre Latinoamericana war der erste und für lange Zeit auch der höchste Wolkenkratzer auf lateinamerikanischem Boden.
The 181 meter high building, whose shape reminds me very much of the Empire State Building in New York, is very popular among tourists and locals because of its observation deck. Of course, I didn't want to miss the spectacular view from the top of the only skyscraper in the city center and I wasn't disappointed.
Das 181 meter hohe Gebäude, dessen Form mich übrigens sehr an das Empire State Building in New York erinnert, ist bei Touristen und Einheimischen wegen seiner Aussichtsplattform sehr beliebt. Den spektakulären Ausblick von der Spitze des einzigen Wolkenkratzers im Stadtzentrum wollte ich mir natürlich nicht entgehen lassen und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht.
Once you have bought the ticket in the entrance area, you can get to the 44th floor via two elevators and enjoy the great view of the city. By the way, the ticket is relatively cheap. I paid just under 7€ for it — a real bargain compared to viewing platforms in other big cities.
Sobald man sich das Ticket im Eingangsbereich gekauft hat, gelangt man über zwei Aufzüge in den 44. Stock und kann die großartige Aussicht auf die Stadt genießen. Das Ticket ist übrigens relativ günstig. Umgerechnet habe ich dafür knapp 7€ bezahlt — ein wahres Schnäppchen im Vergleich mit Aussichtsplattformen in anderen Metropolen.
Of course, I timed my visit to watch the sunset from the observation deck. I can only say I was insanely lucky. It was by far the most beautiful and spectacular sunset that I was able to admire here, but just see for yourself.
Natürlich habe ich meinen Besuch zeitlich so eingeplant, dass ich mir den Sonnenuntergang von der Aussichtsplattform ansehen konnte. Ich kann nur sagen, ich hatte wahnsinniges Glück. Es war bisher der mit Abstand schönste und spektakulärste Sonnenuntergang, den ich hier bewundern durfte, aber seht einfach selbst.
Also at night, with the colorful lights of the city, the view was more than impressive. Especially as a newbie here, to get an overview of the city, the Torre Latinoamericana is just ideal. In the next post I will tell you about some more places that you should not miss in Mexico City - there is still a lot to explore for me here.
Auch nachts, mit den bunten Lichtern der Stadt war der Ausblick mehr als beeindruckend. Gerade als Neuling, um sich einen Überblick über die Stadt zu machen, ist der Torre Latinoamericana einfach ideal.
