Hello everyone! Now that I became a mother, I have many things to tell you about this experience that totally changed my life, and not only my life, it also changed the spaces of our house, because now there are many things of Olivia (our daughter) in every corner (and it's ok, I like it) as for example the co-sleeper or child bed that we decided to buy for her to sleep and in this post I came to tell you my experience or our experience using it.
Desde que hicimos la lista de compras de Olivia, yo no quería una cuna porque esperaba tener una cesárea y siempre pensé que sería incómodo (para mí) tomar a mi bebé desde allí cada vez para alimentarla en los primeros días de recuperación, así que sin dudarlo siempre pensé que un colecho era la mejor opción y de hecho lo ha sido porque se puede ajustar a la altura de nuestra cama y poner justo al lado, entonces no tengo que hacer mucho esfuerzo (lo cual era muy importante para mí recuperación) nisiquiera necesito levantarme de la cama para alimentar a Olí, así que eso sin dudarlo fue la principal razón de comprar el colecho y además terminó siendo un beneficio.
Since we made Olivia's shopping list, I didn't want a crib because I was expecting to have a c-section and I always thought it would be uncomfortable (for me) to take my baby from there every time to feed her in the first days of recovery, so without hesitation I always thought that a co-sleeper was the best option and in fact it has been because it can be adjusted to the height of our bed and put right next to it, so I don't have to make much effort (which was very important for my recovery) and I don't even need to get out of bed to feed Oli, so that without hesitation was the main reason to buy the co-sleeper and it ended up being a benefit.
Este colecho lo compramos en línea por unos 400 zlotys aproximadamente con el envío a casa incluído, es decir, unos 97 dólares aproximadamente y cuando llegó tuve que esperar a mi esposo para armarlo pues la caja estaba pesada y yo todavía estaba embarazada es decir, no podía levantar mucho peso pero tenía mucha curiosidad, entonces nos dimos cuenta que es tan fácil de armar que una vez vimos como era, lo guardamos para volver a armarlo el día que regresamos a casa después del nacimiento de nuestra bebé, así que sí, así de fácil y rápido es armarlo solo un par de minutos.
We bought this co-sleeper online for about 400 zlotys approximately with shipping home included, that is about $97 approximately and when it arrived I had to wait for my husband to put it together as the box was heavy and I was still pregnant meaning I couldn't lift much weight but I was very curious, then we realized it is so easy to put together that once we saw how it was, we kept it to put it back together the day we returned home after the birth of our baby, so yes, that easy and quick it is to put together just a couple of minutes.
Como ven, uno de los lados del colecho se puede abrir por la mitad y de hecho por ahora siempre lo hemos tenido así, entonces puedo ver a Oli mientras estoy acostada en la cama, esto me daba un poco de tranquilidad los primeros días en casa solos cuando los nervios y el miedo era más fuerte, y todavía me sigue dando esa tranquilidad, aunque los nervios siguen.
As you can see, one of the sides of the co-sleeper can be opened in the middle and in fact for now we have always had it like this, so I can see Oli while I am lying in bed, this gave me some peace of mind the first days at home alone when the nerves and fear was stronger, and still gives me that peace of mind, although the nerves are still there.
El producto trae un manual de instrucciones en varios idiomas, y es genial porque además trae recomendaciones y advertencias importantes e incluso tiene varias imágenes explicando las formas en las que puedes usar este colecho. También trae un colchón bastante cómodo, quizá solo agregaría que debería traer también una funda para el colchón, pero para resolver los primeros días le pusimos una toalla mientras encontramos una funda, también trae unas cintas para amarrarlo a nuestra cama pero nosotros decidimos no hacerlo pues a veces ponemos el colecho en otros lugares por ejemplo mientras vemos un película al frente del sofa o mientras como algo en la mesa y entonces así podemos ver a Olivia poniéndola cerca de nosotros mientras ella duerme.
The product comes with an instruction manual in several languages, and it's great because it also has important recommendations and warnings and even has several images explaining the ways in which you can use this co-sleeper. It also comes with a very comfortable mattress, maybe I would only add that it should also come with a cover for the mattress, but to solve the first few days we put a towel on it while we found a cover, it also comes with straps to tie it to our bed but we decided not to do it because sometimes we put the co-sleeper in other places for example while watching a movie in front of the sofa or while I eat something at the table and then we can see Olivia putting it near us while she sleeps.
Ahora bien, según el manual de instrucciones el colecho puede usarse hasta que el bebé pueda sentarse o levantarse, es decir, solo un par de meses, y estoy de acuerdo con ello, pero es una lastima que se deje de usar tan pronto siendo un producto tan cómodo y bueno y además se nota que Olivia está muy cómoda en él. Me encanta que ayuda a mi bebé a ser independiente, pues siempre que la acostamos allí ella se queda tranquila.
Now, according to the instruction manual the co-sleeper can be used until the baby can sit or stand up, that is, only a couple of months, and I agree with that, but it is a pity that it is discontinued so soon being such a comfortable and good product and also you can tell that Olivia is very comfortable in it. I love that it helps my baby to be independent, because whenever we put her to bed in there she stays calm.
Como vieron, son muchos los beneficios que trae el usar un colecho, contando que además es fácil de transportar a cualquier lugar para que tu bebé siga durmiendo cómodo en caso de que viajes y sin dudarlo aunque el tiempo de uso sea corto, de igual forma volvería a comprar uno. Por ahora, ya estamos pensando lo que usaremos más tarde, aunque con calma porque todavía nos quedan varios meses o quizás no porque Olivia cada día es más grande y quizá pronto ya no quepa en el colecho jajaja.
